best 125 rider ever?

Edited Date/Time 6/5/2014 7:50am
I was out of the loop for a few years. I think kiedrowski was the last 125 champ I remember. In your opinions who was the best American 125 rider? I know carmichael is the goat but is he the best on the 125? Ive heard lamson was the best from a few sites ive been reading and it has me curious. Thanks for any opinions!

Where have u been for the past 15 yrs?

Theres this guy by the name of James "Bubba" Stewart that kinda took riding a 125 to a new level... took riding in general to a new level. Carmichael changed the way people trained and stew changed the way we ride.

Robbie Reynard on the right day was incredible. Bubba for sure in terms of pure speed, but also he was the last really fast rider to ride 125 2 strokes.

How about when JS finally rode a 250f at the last race for kicks and destroyed. He had big speed on the 125 and it was really cool to watch. In fact his style suited the two strokes.

Stewart by a ways. What he did on a 125 was pure insanity.

From 92 til about two years ago I didnt know anything about mx/sx. Imagine my surprise when I bought an issue of mxa to have something to read on a long road trip in 07 and it was mostly four strokes! Yep I was out for a long time. Smile

Actually, imagine my surprise when I learned that a black guy was so dominant in mx! When I was into mx back in the day only andy jefferson was carrying the flag for black mxers. I instantly became a js7 fan when I started getting back into the sport. He only does this small sport good by bringing in fans that ordinarily wouldnt give a shit about it. The only strange thing about mx is how many redheads seem to be great riders lol. Gingers are over-represented for some reason.Smile

Lamson and kiedrowski might just squeak into the top ten best 125 riders but not even close to the top 5. JS7 is the best by a landslide.

You mean Bubba 259 right?

That JS7 guy hasn't even ridden a 125.

It amazes me how different riding technique is nowadays. I never knew js was the catalyst for most of it. Imagine changing the way your sport is "played". Wow.

A little surprised the Bomber is not getting the respect he deserves - I would bet money O'Mara, Ward, and Lechien whould have him first or a very close second to Bubba
