My wife has AFLAC at work and she added me to it last year. When I wadded it up and broke my collarbone in Jan, I filled out some paperwork, had the Dr sign it and they mailed me a check. I didn't miss any work so I didn't get the missed work money, but they sent me a check based on a broken bone.

What are some alternatives to AFLAC? I had it for a few years, and collected a couple times. No complaints.

I'm going to get something going again. I have a young daughter who loves to get stitches..

Co-pays. Looks like some kind of HMO/PPO type plan.

Generally, medical insurance products are state-specific, or even county-city specific. Very hard to compare apples to apples in this manner. Health savings accounts with a high-deductible indemnity plan are the way to go for an otherwise healthy population. And one that wants to take the time to understand their coverage.

I have had combined for about 6 years now. They will cover racing and play riding. I don't pay nearly that much a month though. I think I pay 26 bucks a month at the moment.

If you are paying that much you should look into short term disablity. I quoted 60k a year coverage paying me till 62 for 90 bucks or so if I remember correctly. I am 30 for what it's worth..

Actually I think he is talking about short term disability combined with accidental death and dismemberment policies. These policies write you a check when you get hurt, break a bone or are hospitalized and are outside of normal health insurance. These policies can be a real life saver when it comes to covering expenses not related to actual health care costs. We have it where I work and it has been a comfort for a co-worker whose wife has cancer - every time she is hospitalized, has chemo or some type of treatment, she receives a check - she even got a check when she was diagnosed.

I guess you are talking to me. I understood what was being said. If u look up the thread you will see I said I have a policy with them. I was just saying that seemed high at 60 bucks.

For 30 more dollars i would rather have the disabilty choice was all I was saying.

To many, racing may be a pastime, but a businesslike approach to protecting your investment, and yourself, will give you peace of mind to help you focus on your car's performance.

CICA insurance is V. popular here in England amongst the MX community. It's helps take your mind off of not riding when you break bones. Doesn't need to be big bucks cos the medical expense here is ZERO. Cool
