Would it be possible to launch a supercross season that ran every other year, sx only..But here is the catch.. it runs 50 weeks.. so the series goes to every state Alaska and Hawaii... at the end of the season everyone is off for a year to recover, relax etc.. so basically a bi yearly ran series.... Think it could survive and or make it in general?

The only way that would be feasible is if you could take your best 40 or so finishes.

A 50 round series?! That wouldn't be very entertaining, IMO. The longer the season, the less important the wins are and the more important consistency is. I like seeing guys duke it out for wins, not strategizing and tiptoeing around trying to make it through the season.

Where would you fit in the real racing, the Outdoors?

There would probably only be 3 top guys left by round 20.

Guys struggle to stay healthy for 12 rounds, so you'd have very few left at the end of 50.

This would be a standalone series...

The regular sx and mx season could still be done if you'd like.

it would just be a option, with a insane purse at every round and year end sx bonus if you made it to the end or not.

I definitely understand where you're coming from with this.

I'm usually ready for the outdoor season to begin about three quarters of the way through the SX season. The qualifying heats are always entertaining, but aside from the start and the first few laps, many SX mains get boring in a hurry.

Dave, they cant even get an insane purse for every round of a 17 round series so how are they going to come up with a pot of gold for a series comprising of 50 rounds?

Your quest for the betterment of the sport is great but I think you are still drunk from Christmas haha

I'm gonna start this off by saying this is the dumbest idea I have heard in a long time. Let's say hypothetically it happened. Do you really think any of the top guys would quit SX and MX and move over to this series? I definitely think they won't. So how do you expect there to enough money for an "insane purse and year end sx bonus" with a brand new series, and with riders no one ever heard of? Secondly some states I don't think could support such an event. Think of Alaska, do they even have a stadium able to hold a modern supercross? And do they even have a fan base large enough and with enough disposable income to fill out a 45,000 seat stadium? I honestly don't know how you thought this was a good idea.

Ya I suppose with my last point it's gettin a little deep. But my first point with the money aspect and drawing people. You would essentially have to find a whole new field of riders who are already divided between SX/AX and US nationals/Canadian nationals/GPs. How are you going to fill up a stadium with a starting line that consists first of all unheard names, and secondly an inevitably less talented field?

oh man, you could steal a pleothra of riders if you did it like lets say the Mlb...

slalary contracts dude

baseline entry contract 500k (do it like the nhl season; The minimum NHL player salary in 2005-06 and 2006-07 will be $450,000; $475,000 in 2007-08 and 2008-09; $500,000 in 2009-10 and 2010-11, and $525,000 in 2011-12 (to the extent the CBA is extended by the Union). for the season... and you still get race purses and the year end bonus.

obviously you pay for the talent, but im pretty sure.. alot of kids coming from lorettas with titles would jump for a contract that size with plenty of upside potential.

Like I said where do you find the cash to give a baseline contract of 500k for all 40 guys on top of race purses and a year end bonus for a series that is just starting?
