According to Matthes Zacho is staying with 16 which is little surprising to me as I thought 8 would be a great fit for him (was 338 and it's half of 16). Maybe 16 is special to him as he turned his career around with? Maybe because he kind of turned his career around in 2016 with his first win and moving to Aldons during the off season? Maybe I'm reading too much into it?

I really didn't think this deserved a new thread but I went back about 5 pages and couldn't find anywhere suitable to post this, so sorry.

Wilson kept 15 after winning his championship. I dont really like how the number 8 or 9 look on the bike. Id rather keep 16 personally.

I was hoping he'd take the 8. He did ask Langston if he could have that number so hopefully we'll see him with the 8 and not just at the MXdN race.

Maybe Langston is going to make a comeback alongside JS7 this year and AMA wouldn't give it to him.

16 looks good on him, 8 is not one of the better looking single digits.

Funny how a number starts to grow on you. Back in '83ish I got a goofy 389 or so number from D36 for the GP division (or something like that, it was a looooooooong time ago) I HATED that number. So... the next year I registered in mx instead, I got 140... dug it and have run it on everything from bikes to ATV's to cars and I've won a races in every one of those disciplines.(big f'ing deal I know), BUT here's the link... all those wins came with the 140 on the machine. Yeah I ran 440 for 13yrs here in D16(someone else had 140 and I finally killed him with a poisonous elk horn to the jugular) but my old number is on the bike again.
That's my story.

Z.O. stay with what you want.

It's just a silly number anyway ...

^^^ So why not KMC140?

Poisonous elk horn to the jugular lol. Don't mess with this guy's number.

You can't change it yourself. Only administrator's like ML512 and Scottie can do that for you.

I was more thinking along the lines of if the 140 meant/means so much to you why didn't you sign up with in the first place?

I get it though. I'm partial to my number and I can no longer ride. Some kid in the Canadian Nationals was running my number on a Yamaha this summer and that's what I rode for years and just seeing that I was like hey that's MY number MF'er lol. He did make it look good though. Was kind if cool in a way to watch someone ride with the number. Was kind of like watching myself ride. Sad in a way but cool.

I don't know why we get attached to a particular number. I guess it kind of becomes part of your identity at the track.

Realistically, he's only got ~5 years, give or take, more in the tank. So he might as well stick with 16. It suits him well and somehow seems cooler than 8 anyhow.

Personally I think the 8 can be made to look pretty good. Osborne's MXdN font is hideous but the following one is nice.

I've just always thought if I had the opportunity to run a single digit there is no way I'm passing that up. It is just a number on the he bike.. the important thing is the number in the bank account wink

its just a number ... would Stewart be any different had he stuck with 259 ? i dont get that whole number thing , maybe because i watched a lot of MXGP where nobody seems to care at all about single digits and most run double or triple digits .... so you get to choose a single digit as you win a title ??

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

I bet he'd take 338 if he could
