Yup. Land owner turned it over to his family and they told Ed no more. Hopefully something changes, but as of now it's done

Huge bummer, but saw this coming when they started allowing only people on their "gate list" to ride there a few years back. It's been relatively empty anytime I've been there, but it's a shame since it's a fun track.

There is word that Ed has been talking with someone that has well known property right up the road. So ya, it won't be THE ZACA, but we very well might have another version of it 10 or so minutes further north from the original

Agreed. Never had a bad day there. Was going to break in my yz250 there next weekend, until I heard the news last Friday

Sounds like it is. But word is he is talking with a well known property owner up the road a little ways about opening a new track there. So we will see

Stupid laws and possibly an act that allows property owners some special grants and things like that for farm property to not allow any sort of building for 10 years. I think it's called the William's Act. Saw Don Maeda reference it on someone's post about Zaca

Why do people think Florida is some mx capital? There are how many good tracks there? Mx industries? Just because some high dollar guys bought property for training doesn’t mean anything. Besides they have more take home money and private tracks that most will never even get to see,
except on YouTube.

For people who haven't ridden there the dirt looks amazing but in all honesty it's not as good as it looks. In the morning its pretty slippery, and doesn't get to be good until mid day when its broken in. Don't get me wrong, the place is super fun to ride, the layout is flowy and fun, also the atmosphere doesn't hurt either. Just a bummer another track is going away.

I never got to Zaca, but better then Mammoth? That is the finest soil I ever raced on.

While I agree in the mornings there was a tendency for them to have a mudbog, when the dirt was perfect there was just no beating. Its easily the best dirt on a track in california when they were on their A game prep. Pictures of that loam simply don't do it justice. It's my favorite track and it will be sorely missed.

Yup. I got word back on the 18th. It sucks! It was completely worth the 2 hour drive and if I could have, I would have been there every weekend. Last ride there was on New Years and it was awesome! I'm going to miss it and I really hope that Ed and the Castillo's can work something out
