As is, where is.

Great year for that bike. First with the SSS forks? or was that 06? anyway it should have them.

YZ250 for your first bike? Do you have health insurance?

An off road bike is a lot like getting a wife....
Can be the easiest thing to get your hands on,
Do not come with any kind of guarantee,
Will make you foolishly spend loads of cash,
Can be super easy to ride,
Require a good amount of attention,
Best not be shared with your buddies,
Can scar, or break a man forever,
And if the time comes to go separate ways,
Can be next to impossible to get rid of.
Good luck!

Listen to this guy. He may be an Okie but not a DFO...(dumb fuckin' Okie). Buying a used race bike, was, is, and will always be a crap shoot. You may not spend a dime fixing it or it could cost you more than a girlfriend with a 1000 dollar a day heroin habit. On the up side, the YZ is a pretty durable/reliable bike. If it's clean it's probably alright. As to your original question...in the states you are rarely going to get a title on a used race bike. Since they aren't street legal most people don't register them. A bill of sale usually does it.

Plowboy, I’ll take that as a compliment Sir. Good on ya! And I’ll agree, a YZ is a damn solid machine.

Picked up an 05 YZ250 for $500. Needed new crank, had mine rebuilt with prox, all new main and trans bearings. Had to replace first gear. Also did ProX top end. Going to get the 2017 plastic Kit & FMF factory pipe. Sold my 2015 YZ450. I'm over 4 strokes.
