Since my crf450 has proven itself to be prone to self destruct, im not even going to try to ride it this offseason.
Instead i updated my old -06 250 that i bought 4 years ago that my dad rides once or twice a year and will try to make the best out of the winter on it.

RG3 rebuilt the suspension to match my 450, and i put a 270mm oversize front brake kit so i have a chance of stopping it.

Its usually snowy around here from december to march, but it does well in the cold also.

So, are you changing bikes for the winter aswell?

I have this 2016 RMZ 450 that has only done 28 hours which I found quite cheap during the summer

I have a hard time keep my bike a “beater bike”. I got a KTM 125 with the plan of keeping it stock. Full rebuild later I need another beater bike for the beater bike SillyEvil

This winter I won’t be riding. My KX250F needs an overhaul. And my first child is due in a few weeks. So I’ll spend the winter rebuilding the kx and learning my new way of life with the little one. Next spring I plan to add a 250XC to the mix and have the kx as a spare beater bike.

Winter beater is my ‘96 CR
That’s Honey. She’s turning out to be a pretty good track dog.

My winter beater
I see you have the 120". Do you race or just ride on a snow covered MX track? I would think a longer track for your location would be a better option.

Either way, those are awesome.

I am almost done with this beater for the Elsinore Grand Prix this weekend. It's a 125 four stroke, I need to tune the front brakes a little better, and get the front fender on. It's loud!..maybe because I just have a straight pipe. Sorry neighbors.

Congrats dude! It’s filled with joy, nervousness, stress, but a hell of a lot of joy!

She’s been done for a while, but still haven’t ridden her yet. She’s the winter beater for sure.

Na, a 120 is all you need for the backcountry. The longer tracks handle like a school bus.

These riot kits are the first snowbike that truly handles like a dirt bike.

I'm gonna use my '19 Tc125 through winter. Only thing I'm doing different is taking it to SoCal with me. I'll go back to Ireland when the weather improves...
