X2. Another lap and he'd have lapped himself. All in conditions that had every other one of his competitors floundering.

If we're counting SX, I will go with RJ's 17 to first at the 1987 LA SX.

I'd like to say when James beat reed after waving him by on 125s. Just for the simple fact he waved him by and the put it to him

Or

Damon Bradshaw 1989 Miami Joe Robbie Stadium - Crashed 3 times and still won 125cc Main Event.

That's the one right there. I was there at Plymouth and it was worst shellacking in the history of AMA National MX. All others are imitators. (I know, the pic is from Saddleback. Too bad)

Magoo won 4 straight motos at the 1982 Trophee and Motocross des Nations. No chest protector required.

What about Ricky Johnson at the Carlsbad USGP (I think) when CBS aired the moto live... 85 or 86 I think. He ade a coment about it on his VHS tape and stated something to the effect it ruined MX on TV in the states because it was so boring to watch him just ride around. They failed to show any of the other riders (Euros) who were actually battling for the title. I thought that was pretty darn dominate.

Also the RJ and David Bailey MXoN where they crossed the finish line holding hands (O'Mara was on the team too). I think they changed the format that year to hurt the US dominance but it backfired miserably.

This one gets my vote too. It was in 1978 at Plymouth, CA.

for sure. conditions were optimum for everyone, and hannahs yamaha was not even the best bike out there, by far.

the 89 miami supercross where bradshaw fell 3 times and still won was my first supercross.

Hannah's for sure, did not have Reed and JBS getting stuck in the mud, Sorry RC4, you're the GOAT but you don't win this one.

Millville 06 RC by far. Everyone knows that though so moving along to the second most dominant... Any one of RC's MX wins from 02 - 07, save for a few challenges from Ferry, Reed, Stewart, and Windham. It's funny how soon people forget how far ahead he was in EVERY moto he raced in, other than a few challenges from the people I already listed.

I agree. That was a pretty dominant ride. Even given the competition while stacked, was a dominant ride.

Sorry but not even RC lappin everyone in a MUD race compares to James being in last by 10-15 seconds then winning by 10 - 15 seconds on a 125.

For the record I am no fan of James Stewart and It is killing me to type this in his honor.

Everts in the mud at the 98 MXdN at Foxhills England deserves a mention, i am not sure if he lapped the entire field but he did lap most of them, it was that muddy that RC and a heap of others could not get up the hills,

RC @ Millville... I was shooting that race and DC came up to me and said something like "How do you think Lusk feels right now?"

I think I was at both of those races. But, I but remember the beat down Hannah gave to the field at Prairie City a little more vividly.

Dave Thorpe's from last to first in a heavilly stacked 500cc GP class moto at Farleigh Castle in 1980's deserves mention.
Taken down by a wayward Mervyn Anstie (max's dad) in first turn, he picked his bike up out of the ropes, set off 30 + seconds behind last man and within 3 + laps was in the lead!, passing several world champions in his crazy ride throught the whole field!

Ultimately team mate Andre Malherbe was able to re-pass him for the moto win in final laps, but it was a herculian effort any GP fan will never forget!

Yep, that race was classic.
I think DV got second in that Moto and James had a heck of a time that day.
Think he (James) got docked for outside assistance.

Here it is just found it.

Watching Everts use RC/his bike for traction when he lapped him was awesome.
