Stop thinking about being off and just riding (doing without labeling). Easiest way for me is to focus on breathing and riding slow, focusing on technique.

And the times I've wiped out were always when pushing while being "off".

Call it a Day ..... many more days to ride in life........ to risky ending the riding season pushing it to be right. It's not like missing one day is going to ruin your Hobby.

Since I'm not that great to begin with and already going slow,
there's not too much slowing down more to do.
So, that day ended with a broken rib.
Maybe next time I should just stop?

You don’t know what an off day is until you’ve played golf, one day you’re on your way to the tour, the next day you can’t touch a ball without it going in a lake.Laughing

I travelled 6 hours to a race (back then I had an RV with a bike garage where I would just put the bike, everything else went elsewhere). Arrived at the track, walked it, signed up, paid, etc.
Went back to the car to unload the bike. Garage was empty.
Nope, not stolen. Forgot the bike at home... Pinch

At least they gave me back my money Blush
WOW that would suck. I have had some dumb forgetful moments but that is bad lol Maybe i should invest in a 6D helmet if that is my future haha

I also am a pretty on or off type rider. Some days i suck no matter how hard i try and others i suck slightly less then normal even when im not even really trying. I deal with it like the top pros though and just tell myself and others its all due to bike setup.

When you’re on you’re on. When not you’re not. I just get through the day.

Lol I’ve forgot my gear bag but never the bike for a 6 hour haul. Jeeeezz.

If I am going to train, I try to ride softly trying not to fall and complete the training time. If it's a race, I forget and try to go as fast as possible.

So weird this popped up. I just had a day exactly like that today. It sucked , as I felt like I was running in molasses. Just could not find a groove any where , felt sluggish and just felt like I forced myself to go.

I just try and get through the day , and considered it just a day to get seat time....and that's about it.
I went to the track after work today and was just kinda off so I thought i'd ask around.

This.

I had a really bad 1st moto once... crashed once, kept missing my lines, almost crashed 4-5 more times.
I got about 2 laps into my 2nd moto and kept going all over the place... it was like I was cursed that day. Nothing to do with bike setup or track conditions; I just couldn't make it happen. So, I pulled in, threw my goggles on the ground and loaded up. I was pissed ,but I knew that I was headed for disaster if I kept riding.

If i'm not feeling it that day, i'll work on something specific like standing in corners, proper attack position, sitting farther forward in corners. This way if you feel accomplished at the end of the day, you feel like you've done something. Better then packing up and leaving a sour taste in your mouth. At the end of the day we are all doing this for FUN.
This sounds like a good plan to me.

If I'm tired, but have good focus I keep riding. I can overcome tired with focus.
But when I can't focus, I call it a day. It's just not worth it.
