After going to that Yamaha intro i'll say that is the best track I've ridden, I NEED to spend more time back east riding some of these awesome places.

We have 2 awesome tracks up here in New England, MX207 and Hemonds. As far as a favorite, mine would have to be Hemonds MX Park in Minot, ME. Don't get me wrong, MX207 is an awesome track and the actual tracks themselves (although very different) are equally as fun but if we are looking at the whole picture (landscape, amenities, the "get a way" factor and things like that) Hemonds edges it out IMO.

To get there you drive out of town and up a residential street called Woodman Hill road. It's all residential so the first time you go, you swear you are not in the right place. When you get to the top of the hill, you'll see a sign that says "Hemonds MX Park" and you turn in what looks like a driveway. You drive past their home, down in to a valley and up the other side into a pasture that they call the pits. I've never seen pits as nice as these. It looks like a soccer field. The track is really long, the average lap time for vet B rider is a little over 3 min. The layout winds up and down a hill side with some major elevation changes and some really fun jumps. The entire weekend is always a blast. I can't find any pics that do it justice but here a few to give you an idea.

Here is one on their site of Mike Treadwell

Here you can kind of get an idea of the pits

You east coast guys have no idea how good you have it. Unfortunately I have to be close to SoCal for work, but as soon as I'm out of this industry I'm headed back east. I was born in California and have lived on the west coast for all 23 years of my life, and as soon as I go back east I just feel right at home.

the problem with the east coast is you only have a few months to really enjoy it

unless you live in the south that is, then its a little more accessible

You have great weather 9 or 10 months out of the year here in South Carolina. The few months that are normally cold Dec-Feb can sometimes luck out and be in the 60s-70s

One of the tracks that really sticks out in my mind from growing up was Frozen Ocean. I remember they had a LL regional when I was on 80's and we went up a few weeks ahead to check the track out and fell in love with it. hen , they ran the track in the opposite direction for the regional (tricky, tricky). Loved it so much, we made a point to go back several times. I don't have my own pics from back then (late 80's) but here are a few from online:
