The dude is still a badass. Music sounds like Robin Trower.

I get goosebumps every time I watch that video. Times like that make you realize that we all aren't created equal. Some guys are put together a little bit different than the rest of us.

While attending MMI in AZ back in the day this instructor had a TZ750. He would run it around for us guys. Crazy sound and would always wonder how those guys would ride them at speed!

Mostly big Harley's. V twins. Triumph, BSA, Yamaha, and later on Honda ran 650/750 twins also.
Those bikes had tons of low end, it had always been that way.
The TZ was really designed for Roadracing.
A screamer that had its crazy hp power in high rpms.

They outlawed it a year or 2 later, saying it was just too dangerous for dirt.

What's kinda lost here, is the way he just kept moving up in the racing world.
Most all the Americans at the time, were content to stay in the States.
Kinda like motocross is now.
He could have racked up the AMA titles, but chose to head to Europe. Where the fastest guys were.
And to the big bike class.
And beat them at their own game right off.
They still love him over there,

One of the greats, for sure.

Ha, they were quick about it eh?
Business as usual back then.
Bob remember the uproar when they did the same thing to Honda when Honda was kicking their ass a few years later?

Valentino Rossi: "Oh look. A very fast bike. Let me grab my leathers and helmet to give this thing a ride!"
Yamaha: "Don't even think about it!"

That was good. And the respect all the top riders and old mechanics have each other. Very cool.

HEY GRADY!!!

To add to this, I think the GP regulars thought KR would have trouble in a wet race since the US series didn't run in the wet. However, that's where his flat track prowess allowed him to prove them wrong. I think he won the first wet race for the season along with others. He is legendary.

The wheelie at the end is sick- sounds like he shifts right after he starts it.

Yup, you know great music ! Kind of a shame that a lot of folks have never heard of Trower, he's another Jimi Hendrix imo. Bridge Of Sighs can improve lap time and has been known to increase alcohol consumption....post moto that is. Thanks for the vid BobbyM. Cool
