All those head shots... I hope his health is good as he keeps getting older! One of the best to do it

James liked to ride the ragged edge. The majority of the time he did it went well and was extremely fast. When it went wrong, it went bad.

Love him or hate him, the dude was spectacular at times and provided us with a lot of entertainment for several years.

I still think his worst crash was at the Las Vegas SX on the 125 when he went OTB. Also....Southwick when his bike locked up.

He was awesome. It would be cool to see him do some guest appearances in the booth or post some vids of him riding these days

I'd be curious to know if he's wired to just ride for fun, or if he has to be balls to the wall or nothing.

Watching in real-time over the years, the significance of his crashes didn’t register...watching many of them back to back is sobering. The number of times he is clearly out cold makes me grateful that he pulled the pin on his career. I loved watching him race but the rest of his life is more important.

I also have to wonder whether some of his later struggles had something to do with all those hits to the head. He started his career long before all of the NFL concussion stuff and resulting protocols came into being.
