Yamaha owners, yz brake pedal swap

Anyone here own a yz and a newer 4 stroke? I need to know if the brake pedals are the same dimensions. The brake on my yz has play in it from the clevis pin hole being worn. So will the 4 stoke one fit like it appears to on this MJC 125? I'd like to pick one up off eBay because it's smaller and looks better than the original one.

Get you a fasst co rear break clevis.

Waaaay better than stock and doest wear out like the stock ones do. No play either.

Problem isn't in the clevis it is the brake pedal. The pin and clevis are fine. I will probably get one from them though when I get one

I have a 2002 125 and a 2016 yz250f. The 250f has a skinnier area that the bolt goes into. I'm guessing you have an aluminum framed two stroke though since you posted that picture. Here's the 250f measurement for reference. It's about a half inch, where as the 2002 125 is about a full inch. Photo

The pin that goes through the brake pedal and clevis on the stock one is smaller than the fasst co one.

Yamaha is notorious for having play in the rear brake pedal on a brand new bike.

I had a 2004 yz125 and a 2011 yz250 with the same issue and it helped quite a bit. Larger pin, less space for free play in the pedal and clevis.

The pedal is more tucked in on the 4 stroke, but it should physically fit the 2 stroke

So I picked up a newer pedal with pivot bolt for cheap on eBay.
Verdict is: it doesn't work, it's not wide enough to reach the mount and clear the frame. However the threads on the pivot bolts are the same. luckily im a machinist so I can make a spacer to take up the gap between the mount and the pedal (a stack of washers would do the same trick)
Not sure which pivot bolt I'm going to use yet I need to take more measurements.
Good news the new pedal took up most of the play I was having in the clevis.

The new pedal is 2.2 oz lighter with casting marks removed from the old pedal. And by my calculation adds about 6.3 hp in coolness.
I will see what it weighs when I add the spacer. The newer style does have a titanium pivot bolt available where the 2 stroke doesn't.

I will be factoring in more clearance behind the pedal to keep dirt from jamming. This is with the retaining pin in the pivot bolt, you can see the gap behind the pedal, it's about .120" I have a fasst co. return spring so I'm not using the stock position spring.
