Not sure if this has been in another thread. It's an interesting development.

Georgia has taken a bit of a bite out of Hollyweird too. Chicken man has a hand in that doesn’t he?

Idk, wasnt paying the movies much attention at first. Wasnt expecting georgia to become the new movie hotspot. It's cool though, some movie is fixing to come out and my brother is in it. But yeah we got Hollywood out here, motocross seems to be growing, all of the south is getting these new training camps. Lots of pros coming out of the south now.

Thought Yamaha already had a place/distribution center in Kennesaw, Georgia?

It says testing and race divisions will currently stay behind. Interesting.

Think maybe taxes in CA have anything to do with it? As Margaret Thatcher said... the problem with socialism is at some point you run out of other people’s money to spend!

It seems crazy they've all stayed in CA that long. You never hear how easy it is to work there.

Yamaha has already had tons of their operations there for decades. And not just Yamaha motors (who build golf carts, atvs, watercraft in Georgia). They've been manufacturing their pro audio, pianos, etc in Georgia since the 70s.

Bvm111 is spot on. Do your research.
California is not business friendly at all. Taxes and fees are way too high. That's one of the main reasons Toyota is moving from there to Texas. And it's one reason why Texas is booming and Cali isn't.
They are the opposite, very business friendly. As are most of the Southeastern states like Florida, GA and SC, just to name a few.

Not political, reality.

California is a messed up state. It's extremely expensive which doesn't bode well for business.

Isn't the cost of living in California about double compared to Georgia? The labor costs could save Yamaha boat loads of money alone.

While this move certainly makes sense on several levels, where did this information come from? Is this just an internet rumor, or has there been an actual press release from Yamaha about it?

California's economic (GDP) growth rate in 2017 outpaced Texas, Georgia, Florida, and SC.

I'm gonna need a link to clarify that.

The fact remains that companies are leaving Cali due to the bad business environment. Austin and Dallas are booming.
Check your numbers in a few years when all the data reflects the business migration out of the state.
Silicon Valley is keeping you afloat but they have big problems as well.

Companies are heading to low tax states. Look where most of the new car assembly plants are being built, not there.
Hell we have 2 huge ones here in Indiana. Honda and Toyota.

Nearly every state is kept afloat by a few sectors, but California remains probably the most diverse state economy. Yes, it could go downhill at some point and probably will, nothing can expand indefinitely.

But the prevailing reason California remains so damn expensive (taxes and all) is because there is still a lot of money flowing into the state. Supply/demand. That's what free markets do.

You were the one that said "Not political, reality." I am just talking the numbers, and you are taking the political narrative.

I thought Dan only owned the property, could be wrong. I was thinking more of Tyler Perry being the one bringing it all to GA.
