Us older riders that have put on a few extra pounds by the time we reach our 60s need a little extra power to lug us around the track. I love riding my YZ250 2 stroke, and do not want to ride a 4 stroke so it appears my only options are a TM300, KTM/Husky 300, or a "kit" for my YZ.

It is my understanding that the 2 stroke sales for KTM are very strong and the YZs continue to sell, so my wish is that Yamaha come out with a 300 or a 320 2 stroke for us old fat guys.

I bet many of the KTM 350 4 stroke riders would have purchased a YZ big bore, in lieu of, the 4 stroke, had it been available at that time.

Just my 2 cents and my wish.

I would never have another 300 with out a counter balancer. What you wish for is out there, go buy it. KTM 300.

Good point about the counter balancer....had not thought of that.

There's no reason to wish for a YZ 300. The perfect bike is already out there. Yamaha won't make as good of a bike as the KTM/Husky 300.

Feel pretty certain that there is an option for a 2002 big bore kit. From what I have read, I think you can send your cylinder off to have it bored, as well as, other kits that provide cylinders.

Back in the day, Ohlins made a 360 kit for the YZ 250, but it will not fit the newer engines, I am told.

What do you need one for? Just get the XC 300 (not the XCW) The XC is so tunable. You can literally go from riding in extreme Enduro situations to riding MX. Adjust the power valve and maybe tune the suspension a bit and you're ready to go.

I rode a 2013 KTM 300 XC a couple of years ago and it was a turd. Hopped on my buddy's 2014 250SX and it felt like a fighter jet in a back to back comparison. I suppose if you get a 300 SX it will be similar. If my only option was to ride a 300 XC I'd probably just take up mountain biking.

Something was horribly wrong with that bike then. This is the dumbest most unintelligent thing I've ever heard.

KTM does make a 300SX kit for the 250 Sx.

One of my riding buddies has one on his 2012 KTM SX, it also has a FMF fatty pipe & silencer.

It's fast & fun with a bunch of torque, Bit you better pay attention as he has it tuned for a fast\Pro level rider.

BTW: John, If you liked to try it out let me know I'm sure that I can get him to bring it out to Rio.

I've ridden a few 300s and they bore me. I much prefer the snap of a 250. I cannot get sold on the ktm/huskys over the tried and true Jap bikes.

If you have gained so much weight that the 250 is not enough, maybe use that as motivation to hit the gym and shed some pounds instead of buying bigger pants? Thats how up end up with front butt.

Yamaha needs to wake up, here we have another request.

Some of us have been doing the Big Bore Kits for years, they are outstanding when Jetted Right!

ESR is the best Value for the bucks!

Past links to read with all you might want to know..........

https://m.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Yamaha-YZ-ESR-325-2-T-Revi…

There is no Replacement for Displacement!!! Repeat those words over and over because once you feel a 325 Two-Stroke Torque (close to a 450) down low, you will kick yourself for waiting to buy the kit!
In the FIM World Enduro Championship (WEC) the E3 Class (290+ 2-Stroke or 475+ 4-Stroke) most of the best riders are on 300 2-Strokes. Most of the time, the 300 2-Stroke riders will be faster than the E1 250 4-Stroke class or E2 450 4-Stroke class. So with this kit it allows you to have 1 Fun Bike with the Broadest (Linear) Power Band for Motocross and Off-Road riding!

ya agree with AGN on that one haha Even a properly tuned stock 300-XCW cant be described as a turd, it runs a bit different than lets say my 2013 sx250 "fighter jet" but still plenty of pep. Seems like it wasnt running right at all lol
