Yamaha Power Tuner Questions?

I just picked up a 19 YZ 250F for my son. We have downloaded the tuner app but it seems to be very finicky to connect.

I realized you must hit the button to activate the wifi and gather run time etc. but it seems very hard to connect at times.

When it was working I uploaded the Keefer and Preston maps and he prefers the Preston. With that said in my frustration of trying to get the phone to show the total hours etc. I decided to delete the app and start fresh. Now I’m having an issue and cannot pair the phone.

Since I have already uploaded the maps they are still in the bike correct?

The app is a very cool feature but I seem to have connection issues.

The last map you uploaded/"sent" should be on the bike. I would be willing to bet, the issue is with your phone and connection, not the bike or app. I've had zero issues with mine from day one. Works perfectly.

If you're trying it near another wifi source, like in your garage and you have a wireless router in your home, it can interfere with connectivity to the bike. I believe it states that in the manual. You can turn off the router, or do the changes at the track away from any other wifi source.

Ok,

My wifi is right above the garage in the bonus room so that may be the issue. I was able to finally connect last night but my phone would blink while viewing the data. So that may be the issue.

Thank you

I have not had a problem with wifi interfering, you just have to disconnect from your home wifi if your phone auto connects.

I'm looking to pick up a used 250F from a guy on Friday. How hard is it to set-up to check hours? Does bike have to be running when using the app? Any advice to quickly figure it out to confirm hours with the screen shot he sent me is appreciated.
Thanks.

Does not matter what it says, the hours are reset-able, could be the real amount of hours could had been reset.

Pretty sure hours for the piston, oil, oil filter are resetable but the total runtime hours are not.

Edit: I can check tonight.

Yep you can't reset the total hours, checked on a 2018 YZ450F and a 2019 YZ250F.

Keep messing with it, took me a second to get used to using it.

Pretty simple and cool!
