100ccs when its a massive percentage matters yes. Power delivery, feel, power spread, agility, etc all matters.

Why limit options? Im glad to have options.what you like, i may hate, etc.

its more then just the difference in piston size. the crank is heavier, likely the flywheel too, probably some other stuff im not thinking of. You can easily feel the difference between a 350 and 450 in terms of handling.

Why are you so against it? Progression is a good thing.

If Yamaha made a 350F, I would do everything in my power to get one ASAP. Same goes for Kawi and Suzuki. I’d even consider buying a Honda if they made one.

Not true, Red Moto sells a kit, built by Athena , I think, to convert Honda Crf 450's into 400's(413cc). It's said to work really well. They also sell a 300cc kit for the 250's. I'm aware it's not a Yamaha, but...

The 300 kit is a lot used in the crf 250.
In fact, it does work very good.
The problem is that if you can reach 30-40 hours without the motor to explode, you’ve been lucky.
Stay away from that kit.
If you want a 350, buy a 250f and mod it. Pipe, vortex map, there are a lot of things you can do.

No. I don’t like the KTM or Husky’s. The feel weird and I don’t care for them at all. Not that I couldn’t get used to it eventually, but I’d rather have a bike I’m comfortable with right away.

No on the Italian 350 also. Hardly any dealer support around here for those.

Plenty of 350’s already if you’re open minded to a different color. A lot easier than a custom build or convincing another manufacturer to make some.

I agree one of the Japanese manufacturers should make a 350 considering it's KTM's best selling bike.

I misunderstood the conversation. I thought he said he didn’t like the Austrian bikes and the Italian bike doesn’t have parts availability he’d like.

Sorry , I’m out

So KTM, white KTM, or a bike with a headlight and 18" rear wheel?

Edit: Sorry forgot about Gas Gas. So KTM, white KTM, or red KTM? Smile

Stats to back this up? I've heard the opposite.

No stats, I've just heard it several times. Could be a rumor. Not sure if anyone really knows except KTM.

I don't know anyone personally using the 400cc kit, but i do know that you can buy them already converted in Europe.
http://www.redmoto.it/en/prodotto-moto/crf-400rx-enduro-2020

I do know a few people using the 300cc kit, and know one has any problems with it that i'm aware of. None of them are being used for pure moto though. They are being used for offroad based races, hare scrambles, and sprint enduros.
