This is old news to some of you guys but..... HOLY SHIT that bike is good!

I got the chance to ride both of them at a Jason Raines Yamaha Demo yesterday, which I must say is a first class operation. Jason is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and he knows the Yamaha's inside and out.

Anyway, can't say enough how impressed I was with those 2 bikes. If I were to buy one for myself (pretty likely now Laughing ) I'd go with the FX just because it seemed to pull each gear a little longer so you don't need to shift it as much. In reality, they were both so good that the 18" rear wheel is reason enough for me to get the FX just out of convenience but I wouldn't be disappointed to own the regular F either.

Bravo to Blu Cru, that's a hell of a motorcycle.

I've been telling people this since I got my FX in 2017. Its by far the best "total package" bike I've ever owned or ridden. The second gen is even better. But I'm not done enjoying my first gen yet.

Stick flickers, a bigger skid plate and numbers were the only things I put on it on Saturday afternoon when I bought it and I went racing on Sunday. That's all that was on my FX for years aside from maintenance. Over the winter I had the rear spring swapped & valving updated and I added a spark arrestor tip and its even better than the first few years I raced it. Very refreshing not having to do anything to the bike after having to constantly put add-ons or mods or do suspension on every bike I bought for 15-20 years before that.

I got a 2020 FX and a 2016 KTM 350 XCF. The 2020 250FX has a 270 kit in it. The FX handles better then the xcf. Both bikes have lots of suspension work done to them (not done setting up the FX as I've only had it a a month or so).

I really like the feel of the FX. It turns better then the XCF and has this really nice right off throttle (1/8 throttle) torque feel that lets you crack it open mid turn and carry more speed .... its hard to explain... but it doesn't want to brake the rear tire loose it just has this nice pull down low, combined with the turning it allows you to carry more speed in the turns. Nice and stable too. Good fun. The XCF is better on really wide open spaces - think desert riding - but if you're in the single track stuff in the trees give me the FX all day long!

Took me 6 months of looking to land one. Did they just not make that many or?? Kinda strange they are that hard to find. If they made a 350 FX or a 300 FX... they would sell quick! I can't understand how they don't see that market .... just sitting there for them to take it. LOL

The question is...where the hell do you find one?!?
I'm hoping to be patient and pick one up down the line that somebody "Covid bought" and has about 10 hours of ride time on it....maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. As much as I want one I'm not willing to trim anything from my current fleet anyway so I'm gonna have to be patient.

I saw a like new YZ125 for sale last week that was sitting on a new trailer next to another Honda dirt bike and new looking UTV, ad said "didn't use as much as we thought"......I think some more deals are gonna start showing up soon.

They are really awesome. I'm really enjoying my '21YZ250F and that is coming from my '17FC350 that had a decent amount of upgrades done to it. The YZF is stock and it really needs nothing.

A round of applause for Yamaha and their 250. The FX excels in a variety of terrain, and can moto as well. Possibly the best “two sport” bike on the market.

The only weak area might be hard enduro, especially when riding with 300s and their instantaneous torque. Slow, technical trails also highlight the bike’s weight, but when the pace picks up, the extra pounds help stabilize the platform. The FX can also flame out unexpectedly in those conditions, which can lead to a bit of frustration. But anywhere else she is all smiles.

My 2021 YZ250F is the best dirt bike I have ever owned. It’s an amazing machine.

It was seriously one of the best bikes I've ever ridden. I believe it was bone stock except a Rekluse Torq Drive clutch.

I can't believe how much torque it had and how you could just roll it on through corners without really using the clutch and it would just accelerate without any drama.

After about 5 corners and a couple jumps I felt right at home and like I could ride it as hard as I could.

Man....I want one.....

I bought a 2020.5 KTM 350xcf and I'm now starting to hear that this bike can't be tuned. Now I'm pissed and wish I had bought an FX. Hopefully I can figure out the flameout situation on this bike or else I'm jumping ship for blue!

My buddy who is a 2stroke guy (and has been somewhat anti-250F) has ridden mine a few times now and while it's not as exciting as his TC250, he said a lot of what you posted above. Mainly about how you instantly feel comfortable and just so easy to ride.

In all honesty though, ANY 4 stroke feels like an overweight, cumbersome, turd when you try to ride them in hard enduro situations, especially back to back with a nice 250/300 2 stroke. Not saying the FX isn't tall and heavy, it is... But it ain't the bike for gnar... Everywhere else though, its great.

My FX with a hydraulic clutch and fan worked pretty damn good for hard enduro. Not many things it couldn’t do that the 300’s could.

Blais racing can remap the stock ECU on the 350 to help with the flame out. It won't be as good s the 250FX ... the FX flames out a lot less then the 350XCF I have.

There's still quite a few 21 250fx's around. Just check Cycle trader...
22's should be out soon enough.

For guys that ride 80% moto 20% off-road I’m
Assuming the F is the way to go? Or are people preferring the fx for moto?

The MX model would be my choice.

Turn up the idle to 2200 RPM as recommended in manual.

I bought a 21, then borrowed a 20 while waiting for suspension to come back. Took me a little while to get used to it but this bike is incredible. Around the 15 hr mark it started to make sense, doesn't take a ton of body english to ride these. I just sorta got used to the ergos as well, was hard to get comfortable standing up for a while. Tried lowered pegs and hated them.

Love being able to run 3rd gear in nearly every corner. Overall helps my corner smoothness and exit speed

I'm a two stroke guy in and out, but a friend of mine purchased a pair of 2020s from Jazmyn Canfield, one being relatively stock with a pipe and the other being a pretty well prepped mod bike. My first moto I got a rear flat and was about to pack up when he offered me to ride the stocker. I jumped on and messed with the levers and went out to see how I liked the bike. i was blown away and how easy and less demanding the bike was to ride compared to other 250Fs I had tried. The mod bike was a whole other level though. What a powerhouse.

as I understand it, the 21 fx motor is a year behind the 21 F motor. After riding them back to back I prefer the fx low end motor.

Do you have the bar clamps in the back hole? I didn't realize they were in the front hole at first and felt awkward, as soon as I moved it back felt way more comfortable.

Went tona jason raines session in 2015. Was not interested in another underpowered 250.. it was the only bike not out so i said, heck i will take it for a lap with zero interest. Then rode all the other yamaha 2 and 4t models. Bought an fx right away. Just bought a 21 f and its that much better. Problem with the f for enduro is 1st gear is too high and there is no 6th. But for moto or hare scrambles its the bomb.
