This is old news to some of you guys but..... HOLY SHIT that bike is good!
I got the chance to ride both of them at a Jason Raines Yamaha Demo yesterday, which I must say is a first class operation. Jason is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and he knows the Yamaha's inside and out.
Anyway, can't say enough how impressed I was with those 2 bikes. If I were to buy one for myself (pretty likely now ) I'd go with the FX just because it seemed to pull each gear a little longer so you don't need to shift it as much. In reality, they were both so good that the 18" rear wheel is reason enough for me to get the FX just out of convenience but I wouldn't be disappointed to own the regular F either.
Bravo to Blu Cru, that's a hell of a motorcycle.

Stick flickers, a bigger skid plate and numbers were the only things I put on it on Saturday afternoon when I bought it and I went racing on Sunday. That's all that was on my FX for years aside from maintenance. Over the winter I had the rear spring swapped & valving updated and I added a spark arrestor tip and its even better than the first few years I raced it. Very refreshing not having to do anything to the bike after having to constantly put add-ons or mods or do suspension on every bike I bought for 15-20 years before that.
I really like the feel of the FX. It turns better then the XCF and has this really nice right off throttle (1/8 throttle) torque feel that lets you crack it open mid turn and carry more speed .... its hard to explain... but it doesn't want to brake the rear tire loose it just has this nice pull down low, combined with the turning it allows you to carry more speed in the turns. Nice and stable too. Good fun. The XCF is better on really wide open spaces - think desert riding - but if you're in the single track stuff in the trees give me the FX all day long!
The Shop
I saw a like new YZ125 for sale last week that was sitting on a new trailer next to another Honda dirt bike and new looking UTV, ad said "didn't use as much as we thought"......I think some more deals are gonna start showing up soon.
The only weak area might be hard enduro, especially when riding with 300s and their instantaneous torque. Slow, technical trails also highlight the bike’s weight, but when the pace picks up, the extra pounds help stabilize the platform. The FX can also flame out unexpectedly in those conditions, which can lead to a bit of frustration. But anywhere else she is all smiles.
I can't believe how much torque it had and how you could just roll it on through corners without really using the clutch and it would just accelerate without any drama.
After about 5 corners and a couple jumps I felt right at home and like I could ride it as hard as I could.
Man....I want one.....
Pit Row
22's should be out soon enough.
Assuming the F is the way to go? Or are people preferring the fx for moto?
