YZ125 Plastics conversion

Ive seen it done before, How do you make a later yz model look exactly like a newer yz with the airbox? Would I just put a newer airbox and 16 plastics on it?

All depends on what year bike you're talking about. 2002 and up you'll just need a couple things. I believe one of the online stores sells a kit with everything you need. Pre-2002 bikes you'll need to do a bunch of modifications in order to get the newer look. I have no idea what is entailed in terms of modifications in order to make those older bikes look modern.

Edit: 2002 and up Conversion Kit. Only thing missing is the front plate and lower fork guards.

Like I mentioned, it depends what year your YZ is. 2002 and up yes, older than that it takes modifications.

If it’s a 2002 or newer, Rocky Mountain sells a kit with air box and all plastic

Yes, plus the rest of the plastic.

This is the cheapest kit I have found.

When I did my 08, I bought genuine plastics off of Yamaha, better quality & fit plus you'll have to get an OEM air box anyway but if you're on a budget.....

On a similar note, what is involved in updating the plastic on a 2007 YZ85 to the current style? I have searched for an aftermarket kit but haven't had much luck. Thanks

It is basically the same bike, so I’d guess all you need is a gas tank, air box and plastics kit.
