YZ Clamps

Does anyone know the difference between the 06 YZ250 lower clamp vs the 06 YZ125 and 250F clamps? They all use the same upper clamp but the 250 bottom is a different part# than the 125 and 250f.

The stem is longer on the 250 2smoke.

ps- My yz always pushed in corners (maybe partly how I ride I dunno) so I switched to 22mm offset clamps and it was still fine at speed but turned much better for me.

The stem can be pressed out, so pass up on other clamps if you find a good deal.

That was kinda what I figured. Found a guy local with 06 250f clamps for $45

Be careful, Yamaha switched to different width clamps that were just a couple mm off from each other somewhere in those years. They were wider and without the right wheel spacing, could cause forks to be pinched slightly at the axle making them succeptable to leaking.

I believe it was 2007 on the 250f and 450 if i remember correctly. The top clamps are all the same for the 06 yz250, 125, and 250f. Thank you though!

You can machine a 1mm spacer on the brake side I believe, if you run into this. There will be an obvious gap.

I know you just got the bike, so my advise would be shut yourself off from any internet opinions and just ride the thing for a bit. Get a feel for it and determine what YOU think about it, not what anyone else thinks or repeats from others. I have my own little changes I've done to mine, and not all of them line up with what others think is the right way to go, so I'd get a solid feel for it before you change anything.

DM me on here or IG and I'll give you the run down on what I've done, but I don't think its good to get anything stuck in your head before you really get some time on it to feel things out for yourself.
