32:1. Rips. Stock jetting is based for 32:1. If you go 40:1 or 50:1 it will effect the jetting pretty noticeably.

32:1 on both my yz250x and regular yz250. They run outstanding!

You'd probably be fine running that with todays oils, I have run 50:1 in my YZ from day 1 and I'm at almost 200 hours now (rebuild every 50 hours, crank at 150). Oil ratios are like favorite colors though, nobody is ever going to agree and will go with what they were taught until the day they die. If it worked in the KTM there's really no reason I'm aware of that it wouldn't work in the YZ, there isn't any major fundamental difference in how they function.

50:1 Redline, Tom Morgan recommended on my build. Only ran 32:1 petrol based for break in. As long as you run good quality oil (I prefer synthetic), correctly jet, good gas, and clean air you will be good.

40:1 on my 2007 YZ250. I must say that I am pretty slow. I rev the shit out of it before the gate drops, then after the first turn... eh, not so much. :-)

I run 40:1 with 927, but this bike is setup as a grunt machine (11oz FWW, FMF Fatty) so I don't often wring it out.

32:1 is perfect. I believe the manual says 28:1 which is pretty heavy. The oil is lubricant for your motor so I wouldn’t skimp out

Gotta run Yamalube 2R. Only other stuff I'll run is SuperM if Yamalube isn't available

I ran it for one top end as a test and went right back to Lucas. I can pick Lucas down the street at the auto parts store and it runs cleaner, no reason to use the 2R.

32:1 half pump half race gas. Yamalube 2R because it's easy to get and does the job well.

I bought and raced a new YZ250 in the vet classes every year 2008-2015. Ran maxima 927 32:1 with 93 octane pump gas and never had an issue. Stock jetting. Pro circuit pipe and silencer, vforce reeds. Get the suspension dialed in for yourself and you have a race ready machine. Bulletproof. reliability on the YZ250 is second to none

Also not sure if pro circuit still has any in the rafters somewhere but back in like 2009 or so I was able to score a special YZ250 “reed bend” works pipe. Matthes mentioned it on pulp once and sure enough it was legit thing.... And sure enough I wadded the pipe up a short time later at broome tioga in New York. Rock smashed a baseball size dent in it

Hp2 and Yamaha r2 is the exact same oil from the same supplier with a different dye.....just in case there is a shortage of Honda oil or which is cheaper at the moment. Just FYI.

You beleive everything you read? Had a friend that tested at Honda, sometimes they ran short of HP2.....they would just send yamaha lube instead....from Honda. Lable is a label as far as im concerned, they could tell you its made from real goats milk and you would bite.
