YZ 125 Tranny

Wrong type of tranny for anyone who thought otherwise. Got 4 rides on my 2018 yz 125 and ready to give the ol girl a service. Going with bel ray gear saver 80w. Everyone says bel ray is the shit including Chad reed himself. And for some backstory and great debating, went back and forth between a ktm 150 and the Yamaha 125 and am not disappointed one bit. Great bike. Saved 2 grand and it’s all that I had hoped for.

I loved my 2016, probably one of my favorite bikes. If I could afford to get back into moto, I would be on one of these or a 15-17 CRF250R. Enjoy!

First sentence solved my problem. I'm out of here Wink

But actually, why do you like the 125 better than the 150? I rode a 2016 150 a few weeks ago and it was awesome. I've always hated reading people say that "it's the funnest bike" cuz I thought they were just repeating what people expect to hear. But honestly it really was fun. I haven't ridden a 125, so can't compare.

They fixed that a decade ago I’m pretty sure.

I know it’s not saying much, but I came off an ‘02 CR125 to a ‘14 150 and I absolutely loved it. Felt like it had lightyears more power and it was spread all over, rather than mid and top on the CR. I loved that bike and would definitely get another if I was looking for a small bore bike.

I ride a KTM 250 SX so I'm used to quite a bit of 2 stroke power and I was still impressed with the 150 power. I definitely had to work more to keep it in the meat, but not as much as I expected and it got on the pipe quickly when I gave it the berries.

I ride a YZ250 now and I think the 150 was definitely easier to ride and go fast on. Mine was completely bone stock, didn’t even touch the clickers, and I could rail corners and hit jumps with confidence a lot better than the YZ250 or RMZ450 I had. Great little bike.
