In the real world, if your not good enough at your job to make a living or work for a good company. You have to do something different. Why is it so different in moto? Guys that are privateers and struggle to make it to races, are no different then someone that is a salesman. Its the same as working on commission. If your not good enough to sale enough product, or sell yourself to sponsors or get results that pay, then you find a different means of income. Thats the big problem people have with moto. They confuse that this is something most of you enjoy doing with the fact that it is a job for the pro's. And if they don't perform, they don't get paid. Its not different then if you go to work and do a shitty job and lose it.

You may be right but that doesn't excuse the fact that the sport generates lots of money of which very little goes back to the guys who risk life and limb save but a few.

Your right. How is this any different then most any other industry though? Yes, the riders get screwed over the promoters to some extent. But, they have to take some blame for it themselves for allowing it to happen.

Matt, If a rider is in the top 40 in the world they are doing a good enough job to get paid. Nascars 40th finisher made like 76,000. Again your mouth has out shined the legend of your stupidiotness.

Sadly, it's the only game in town and unless your going to forgo doing what you love to do there aren't many options.

I suppose if your boss says they were going to pay in half and you loved what you do you may make the same decision as these privateers.

Scott,

I need a CR500AF. I'll even run your grass seed, turf builder, fertilizer, or whatever the hell it is, on the graphics!

Nope, think about it. People are only worth what someone will pay them for. If thats all the promoters pay for a purse, and thats all riders are willing to ride for. Then thats what they are worth. Pretty simple numbers.

Granted, the purse really only applies to the riders that give a shit about it. Factory riders don't give a shit about it. Its meaningless to them. Its the privateer guys that care about it. Nascar guys don't get their purse money, at least the majority of it. Its goes to the team.

Please come back when you have a clue about how this sport works. Until, then stfu.

You said MX is like a real job you don't perform you don't get paid. If you don't get paid you are a dumbass for working that job. Now, where do you draw the line? Say if you aren't top ten you aren't performing, fire the non performers. Now we have 10 riders showing up at to race, because you think a top 40 rider in the world is not performing. Company is going to fold if you don't at least pay the top 40 workers in the world. You totally contradick'ed yourself again.

But regardless how shitty the pay is they never have any problem filling the gate, so where is the motivation to pay more for 11 th to 40 th. It's called supply and demand. If the supply of riders is great, like the supply of people with the minimal ability to flip burgers and count out change, then the pay will be small.

Maybe there isn't enough money in the sport to support two classes with 40 riders each. If the riders want to prove a point then stop showing up. Maybe they should only have 30 at the gate, like GPs, how about 20. I am sure eliminating a few lappers isn't going to degrade the show too much.
