Anyone know a collector of all things Honda and Honda XRs? We got this 1998 XR200R with the intent of having friends and family ride and learn on it, however it’s in far too good of condition to let people ride, drop, get dirty etc. Fortunately we found another near matching XR200 and that has joined the fleet of riders. Really would like for this bike to make its way to a collection and live out its days in peace since it’s made it this long in such good shape.

It’s got a new air filter and fuel line, the rest of the bike is all original. Fender and swing arm stickers still there, original tires, grips, everything. Very minor imperfections from sitting in storage but it’s apparent this bike was ridden no more than an hour or so.

I can't comment on the 200, but I still have my first bike, an 86 xr80. Used to belong to Mike Brown.

The most fun I've had are on small hondas. I've owned multiple ATC 70s. They're super slow, but I really get a thrill out of "I wonder if I'll run myself over on the 70 today".

That’s a tricked out 100! We got 3 of them, 89,90 and a 00. Been resurrecting a track at my parents house and burning some laps.

When I moved off my my Trail 50 to an XR100 I thought I was big time. Still have that 87 XR100 too, always a fan of that platform.
You’ve got a beauty there!

70s are the coolest! I also rode a 185s when I was younger and we’d go on Easter trips to the desert. T boned a kid on a quad and got ejected what felt like 50ft across the dry lakebed, good times!

Dude, that was my first bike too. 86 xr80.

An old neighbor of mine has like 60+ XR's or something, he's got money and would swoop it up I'm sure.

Nice collection! The XR line is so bulletproof. My buddy has an 80 that should not be running anymore. But it still starts up and rips the backyard track. I rode the hell out a 100 when I was a kid and want another just for the nostalgia. I think mine was a 97 or 98.

The first time I got on an ATC70 I ran over my legs and rolled it down a hill, then vowed to never get on a three wheeler again. laughing

@dimblewambie - That thing is awesome!

Try Nick McCabe (he was a RacerX contributor, might sill be?) he's a big collector of bikes 80s/90s bikes like that. His IG is @icollectmotorycles

My family still has our trusty 82 XR200 in the stable. Honda XRs were a big part of anyone who grew up learning to ride in the 80s/90s.

Anyone remember an MXA article about a race at Glen Helen, and had a photo of two dudes that raced XR100s? I know it’s an obscure reference,......it really stuck in my mind. It said they weren’t fastest, but had the most fun. Think it was a 12 or 24 hour deal.

The 100s are a blast! Need a little more power to pull my fat ass around but they do well enough to have a good time.

Nice, I'm slowly but surely building an xr600. Bought the motor for $100, the cam broke in half and it had a bent valve. Im tempted to just throw my new head on it and run it, but we will see. I'm a little nervous about the bottom end. I just got a pretty cool exhaust for it and the swingarm and frame are our getting powdercoated. Maybe it will be done in a year.

I think that was the “First Corner” experience. Halfway through the corner, you realized that “leaning the bike into the corner” was not going to work, as the front end slaps back to straight.

You are about to blow through that corner, so you put the leg out to over-compensate, and the rear wheel climbs up the back of your leg.

I failed my first corner into a barbed wire fence.

I miss my xr 80 everyday 😞 should have never sold it. Could go harder on that then all my buddies on 110’s and thing was bulletproof

Was plasma cutting the shock mount off my 50 to move it for a larger shock in my friendsdriveway when a neighbor walked up and asked if someone wanted a 100 that had been crashed into a canal and then put in storage years ago for $150. I wasnt interested at first but got his number and decided to check it out. When I got there he was ripping around the yard on it with half the plastic and cables hanging. I jumped out and said to shut it down quick as I could only imagine the water and oil destruction about to happen. I actually gave him $300 because it was running and had a title. I stripped it and painted and replaced about all the important stuff. Fun bike. Photo

Nice collection! I bought a 96' XR600 recently. I want to turn it into a TW200 style flat tracker style fun bike. I'm a shorter dude so I need a lower bike and the XR is not exactly a low seat height lol.
