What is the purse money like for Super-X and the other "Moto" events? I saw someone mention purse money and I was just wondering.

I believe it was $40K to the winner of the women's race, $20K for second, etc. I assume it was the same for the men's. I'm not sure for freestyle, supermoto, stepup, etc.

Cool, thanks. I read that ESPN made the payouts the same (men and women) for winter-X, but no mention of the actual amounts. I'm not sure if that applies for summer-X.

I also saw some payout numbers on Matt Hoffman's site (or a site related to his company) and BMX was $50.000 to the winner.

That is a seriously nice payout. If you win a couple events, you could actually make a living from competing in just the x-games.

For sure, specially figuring some of the Skate dudes can enter up to 4 or even more events, add to that their sponsor cash and its a good living.

I think Dave Mirra has the record for most Gold Medals at X with 15. Thats a pretty good chunk of change, but i doubt its always been that big of a payday.

I was told that Super Moto paid $50K for the win.

You know how much that Adaptive Moto X guy got for his gold? $000,000.00

I had a great time though and have never been treated with so much respect from a promoter as I have with ESPN X Games. I'm including big time sports car racing such as Grand Am (Rolex Series.)

Wait, you didn't get paid for your win? That's a bit ridiculous... You essentially lost money by going to the x-games due to expenses. Even if the payout is lower due to it being a new event, there should still be something.

We were on live TV and I'm really stoked about that! I'll make the best of it and get as many sponsorships out of that as possible.

I think letters to espn about how well the Adaptive Moto X was appreciated is what will make the difference!

Congrats Ridge, there was about 50 guys in our lounge at work cheering you on. Most weren't moto fans but they were all amazed at what you guys accomplished out there.

Very cool man.

The marketing guys could interpret that as more viewers next year.

I know for most of the Skate/BMX events it's been $50k to the winner for a few years now, but they also have less participants to payout. With Moto, i think everyone in the final gets paid which i think was 12 riders? So $40k to the winner may be correct.

i've read a couple of threads on here (JG injury thread and Sleeters thread) and a few people have stated that the X Games isnt a big deal and it's a one off race. Could not be further from the truth. In addition to the good paydays and top notch treatment of the athletes, many of these guys do make a living off X Games and the sponsorships from the massive exposure. Chuck Carothers took full advantage of his success a few years back and i know it helped pay for his big riding compound and ranch in Texas. Same for kyle Loza. both were un-knowns coming into XG and used the media hype and coverage to land some bigtime and well paying sponsors.
