Would you buy one of these?

The new Kawasaki 2020 zx25r - 250cc inline 4 20k rpm rev limit speculation around 60 hp. Showa sff forks abs braking traction control and things like race settings for the instruments. Rear swingarm is aluminium just painted black. Spec wise it's very close to the zx6r. Top speed is 180kph = 120mph. Msrp if it came to the states would be in the $9800 range. Is going to be made at Kawasaki Indonesian plant.

Was supposed to be released earlier this month but got delayed. Current markets it slated for Indonesia Thailand and Japan. Maybe could make it to western shores.

So would you buy one if it was released here? It's not a cheap entry level 250 like the current ninja 300/400 or R3 etc.

Very cool bike! But 20k is a lot of revs..Probably fun on a race track, but that high of revs on the street could get irritating..

My first street bike was a Yamaha FZR400, similar HP. I used to buy tires from a road racer I knew and everyone would be like damn dude when they saw my tires, thinking I was riding like a madman on the street.

It was gutless below 9000 rpm, pulled hard after that. It was a neat bike and I wish I still had it.

At the time, two of my riding buddies had Duc 748s. You had to cane it, but sure on backroads you could keep up just fine. The “R6 for my first bike” choice crowd didn’t think too much of my little 400, but I was surprised how many people offered to buy it. There were plenty of folks who understood the appeal. This was 20 years ago though.

I had a 92 zxr250 and it was one of the most fun bikes I have owned. At full song it sounded like an f1 car, and you didn't have to be doing warp speed to get it there. I'm actually stoked they have gone back to the I4, the parellel twins that have flooded the learner market are as exciting as a dry slice of bread. Ive long had my full licence and I still think about the lil 250 I4s, I wouldnt pay that much for one though.

I always liked small road bikes... back in 84 I had a brand new GPZ 1100, I hated it. Used to take my brother GPZ 550 out all the time, small inline 4 with a pipe sounds awesome...

So far I've been really suprises how slow the lightweight sport bikes are. 60 hp is around 1/2 some 600s and I just gotta have a little more.
