Sure, easy. They make hours at gncc

Things to do would be make the efi full rich to run cooler, take timing out of the ignition.

Shaker screens on the radiators.

Drop the compression ratio.

Over fill the oil in both sides.

To finish first, first you must finish. Someone would have had their shit together and properly prepped/gone easy on the bike.

Yeah, lots of dumassery out there .

Those guys need to ride in the mud a time or two.

Rev the piss out and slip the clutch just doesn't work.

You'd think the mechanic would give the rider a idea of how to make it live ten minutes.

The same basic bikes make it through 3 hours of just as much mud and them some all the time in the off-road racing world. I find it ridiculous that some of these dudes couldn't even make a clutch last one heat race. They sit there stuck in a rut just reving the snot out of their bikes, and then get pissed when they over heat and blow up.

Kailub Russell or Thad DuVall could have won an AMA Supercross last night.

I second that ^

You just have to ride mud the correct way, sitting down and losing momentum frys everything. In supercross I will give into the fact it is much different and you will have to suffer staying inbetween the tuff blocks because of rules where as in gncc you have room to get onto different dirt but still u had many riders make it to the finish with no prob in a main and others who couldn’t make it very far in a heat. A lot of it was physical, u had to physically get the bike moving or else lean on the clutch and throttle to make up for dog paddling and whatever else kept u from killing the bike. Reeds issue was he was riding his bike to that level he knew would make it, then he saw Webb and went for it crossing that margin, I expected most riders to be close to that fine line last night with how sticky it became.

How about hard enduro??? Those guys make it. Honestly it was embarrassing to watch such talented riders look like amateurs. But they dont train or prepare for it. Those bikes are not made for it. Race gas, high compression engines race maps are a bad idea in that slop. However remember what would have been a 50 second lp was 1:15. Not bad Really it just looked awful

Yes, but the clutches and fluids wouldn't have! Can't go anywhere with an overheated engine with a smoked clutch. Just ask AC!

You don't think it's easier to maintain your momentum in a gncc vs the whole track of ruts that are so deep they eat the whole bike? Just seems like apples and oranges. But it also seems like part of the race strategy should be to finish.

Yeah GNCC guys don't know nothing about ruts

You can't compare with GNCC. Those guys ride with a different intensity because the races are so much longer

You ought to try out a GNCC or enduro. They're a shit ton of fun, and you'll realize just how tame the track really was. These guys need to train in mud more.

The speed the top xc1 guys ride for 3 hours is mind-boggling.

Should of kept it 20min and 15min make it a proper test of man and machine, the factory's would of thrown their toys out of the cot knowing there bikes couldn't make it.

Like someone above said you need to prep the bike for the race not just reduce the moto time
