The whoops in 2019 and 2021 were skimmers. I don't think. We've saw jumpers this week and he makes the podium ( a couple of gifts), but the last few weeks, tough skimmers and he just didn't have the pace.

He is a great rider, but I'm starting to wonder if the jumper whoops in the last few years are what got him the titles.

Webb was just fine in whoops on a 250, let's keep that in mind.

Consider this alternative to your scenario: "Would Webb have more than 2 championships if KTMs didn't suck in whoops?"

His pace compared to the others didn’t seem much better than the west coast rounds so I’d say the answer to your question is yes. He started at the front and worked his was backwards until a couple falls. Tomac probably would have beaten him if not for the fall also. It was a better result, but I don’t feel the riding was significantly better. Next weekend will be a good indicator of if the train is actually turning around.

The only thing that is factual and 100% proven is that Webb has 2 championships. Everything else brought up is just excuse making for other riders.

Webb wouldn’t be champ if the whoops were bigger, Tomac wouldn’t be champ if Webb didn’t crash in Arlington, Dungey wouldn’t be champ if Tomac’s pants didn’t fall down, and Anderson wouldn’t be champ if Tomac didn't crash at A1 and Roczen wasn’t injured.

But they all won championships because they had the most points at the end of the season. Simple as that.

Webb won races with the biggest/longest sets of whoops last year, he didn't jump all of them.
And without his sickness in the beginning of 2020 and his back injury he could have gone for three in a row, this guy for sure doesn't get enough credit.
While he wasn't the best guy in the whoops, he for sure schooled everyone on starts and in the corners and those things don't look as good this year on the new bike.

Webb won his titles through consistency and mental strength. No one else out there has those 2 things at the level he does. Whoops mean absolutely nothing for him.

He was not really great in the whoops in 250s. It was definitely a chink in his armor while he was dominating everyone.

Rewatch Glendale 2016. Webb was so much faster than Christian Craig (and everyone else) everywhere on that track. It wasn't even close. But Craig won the race largely due to Cooper's inconsistency through the whoops.

Faster riders not riding to their full potential have and Webb making the best of it have earned him his two titles.

We all know and Webb knows it to that he lacks speed to be the fastest but makes it up with being great at making the most of it. Just look at this saturday. Lost plenty of places in one lap to faster riders and before the main was done he crossed the line as second due to standing up while the faster riders hit the dirt.

Well I would have beat RC heads up every time if I had skill, talent, a drive to be the best. Instead the best God given talent I have is making a case of Bud Light disapear. I'm am sure Ricky is ready this and is thankful to hear this.

How in the heck can you question Webbs TWO championships and not Andersons ONE? Everyone was hurt in 18, memories are short around here....

You can’t (or shouldn’t) question Webb OR Anderson’s championships. You gotta be in it to win it and Anderson was the fastest healthy rider in 2018.
