What is so great about them? I've been curious since I first came across them, I cannot possibly see how the price tag is justified. The perch alone is 120 AUD, I understand the levers are designed with each bike in mind but is that the only thing that separates them from their competitors? I mean I can buy a Pro Taper assembly that looks pretty similar for 100 AUD, which is well under half the price of the Works Connection one. Despite the price, they still seem to be fairly popular, at least in the US. I know Works Connection stuff is usually on the high end compared to other brands but I straight up don't get this one. Were they just the first to come out with something like this and that's why they're so popular?

Anyway is there anyone here that's used one that can tell me what is or isn't so special about them?

The regular guy has to pay for all the free stuff the pros get. Nothing is free, someone has to pay!

The lever feel (shape) and lever pull (smooth/easy) of the WC Pro perch is vastly superior to any stock unit I've replaced it with, and I've used them for many years on both 2 and 4 strokes.

I can not compare the feel and function to others like Pro-Taper since I've never used the PT unit but I'd guess, and only a guess since a quick Google came up empty, that the price difference may be that WC is made in the USA and the others may not be.

Fit, finish, and quality. They are amazing pieces. As for if the price is justifiable, that's for you to decide. Save 20% with the Pulp code.

Those levers DO feel good but I have wondered this myself forever. Obviously, the leverage ratio and such are easy to duplicate. So why in the hell isn't someone doing a quality unit like that WITHOUT all the bells and whistles for $50.00? There is obviously a market for it.

Myself- I just get one of the Motion Pro levers with the bearing and run it in the stock perch. The fuck if I am dropping $125.00 on a lever. Tires are WAY more important.

Those that have multiple sets of Oakley Airbrakes are exempt from this convo. hahahah

I’ve got a set on both bikes. Love it. It’s buttery smooth. Everything about it just feels great

I agree the price is wild, and there should be cheaper versions on the market that work/feel exactly the same at a fraction of the price, but there just isn't...

The 3 bearing lever feels so good and doesn't wobble at all (unlike most others on the market) and everything looks and works as it should with next to no maintenance

Pro Taper is made in China, the big difference in price is there. With that said, the WC is still super expensive for what it is.

Pro Tapers for the win on price and durability. I use em both sides on vintage bikes and have never had an issue. Pivot bearings are stainless steel sealed ball races and never wear or loosen. I did a 10 unit buy and paid 66% of retail. I crash too and have never broken one.

I ran Pro Taper on my Suzuki. Worked great, but would start getting sloppy around 30 hours, bought 2 of them while I owned that bike.

I tried to buy a WC the entire year and a half I owned the bike, always out of stock.

Easy: WC assemblies just last. I bought my first one in 2012, it is still in use today on my friends bike. No play, still buttery smooth and predictable actuation.

Personally I would not own a bike without a WC clutch perch (unless it has a hydro clutch of course)
