I don´t think the nationals should run at the same time as MXDN´s, BUT the US Open is about as interesting as the X-Games

Since so many riders are injured/recovering from injuries from throughout the season, they should hold golf tournaments for the riders since quite a few play golf. Something that won't ruin another riders season before it even starts unless of course they roll a golf cart.

A Fall International Series would get my attention and attendance.

You are getting warmer.

Has anybody noticed how popular the PGA Seniors tour is?
How about an AMA Seniors MX tour?

I want to see Emig and McGrath out there.
Gold mine.

They can have November and December for that and we all know they get hurt more often practicing for SX . A few more MX races won't do anything but help their overall fitness.

Word! all the more reason for an SX only contract. 33 weekends is like 2 football seasons in one year! Factory Kaw was out, Yamaha was out, Factory Honda was out, Millsaps outdoors, Short, indoors....that left Suzuki with one healthy rider to ride around until Short faded, Woohoo!!

I don't think you will see an expansion in the number of races anytime soon, unless it's a retooled US Open next October.

No, this would be different. We'd get the best FIM racers and pit them against the top AMA pros in a short, 4-race series. It would be open displacement, run-what-you-brung format and pay out huge purses for the winners. Forget energy drinks, this series would be sponsored by liquor companies specializing in absinthe, medical marijuana growers and Cuban cigar makers.

It would be all hush-hush and have an underground sort of vibe so there'd be no TV package but racers will want to race because they'd be seen as gutless if they didn't.

We could call it something catchy like the Trans-AMA Series or maybe the Inter-USA Series. People would come from miles around to see that, I'll tell ya...

Just think, you could add a round in Georgia and maybe another west coast round

14 race series would be great, they will go race some where might as well make it a National.

Not saying I don't like the idea Jay but your suggestion is in conflict with the whole "we cut the races down to one day so the teams save money and spend more time at home."

I would rather see qualifying return personally. Southwick is the best example of how if you don't qualify in the first session you're hosed.

BTW I missed the Des Nations is just a money grab now....what changed from when it was at Budd's Creek in 2007?

How about letting the riders heal up? After all, only 3 of them ride the Dez Nations anyway, and they don't all ride the Open. Adding more races just makes an already too-long season much longer.

no way....for obvious reasons

EDIT: not that i wouldn't love it....but the teams and riders wouldn't go for it, if anything you would see more riders wanting to go supercross only or some bs like that

Little prone to exaggeration there, eh RE: half the field?

To finish first first you have to finish and I think it is lame to diminish RD's championships with this type of comment but your entitled to your opinion nonetheless.

Looking forward to next year to see who comes out on top and what excuses people will come up with then.

Agreed. As much as I love watching dirt scooters race, these guys need a legit off season. Although, I wouldn't be mad if they added an Arizona stop to the Motocross series...yeah, I know we are close to California and alot of other regions of the US deserve a stop more. A guy can dream though, can't he ?

I think there ought to be a fall series where the promoters attracted the best talent in ever form of motocycle racing (moto, flat track, road racing ect), make the tracks part asphalt half dirt with some jumps added in. Then put slicks on dirt bikes, wow that would be so cool.

Oh wait..........
