Looking only at the result on paper you won’t see much improvement... but if you paid attention there were signs of life.

He was holding his ground at 6th in the heat race but he lost the front end and dropped to 12th. Made a couple passes and came really close to taking the transfer spot back. His fast lap in the heat was actually respectable.

In the LCQ he moved forward quickly and controlled it the whole way. Made some passes in the main, lost some spots towards the end probably due to fatigue but overall... an improvement. For the first time all year we saw him moving forward.

Before it’s all said and done he’ll be hovering near the top 10. My guess on his best finish would probably be 7th.

I doubt he even top 5's a heat race. I respect the hell out of his grit at this age but a top 5 in a main is very unlikely with this field

Wow surprised that someone who has raced professionally would have the opinion that Deegan stated?!

There’s no shame in just saying “ stick a fork in me , I’m done” time to let a young hungry hotshoe win a LCQ.

Sure makes the LCQ interesting and fun to watch.

I hope Reed finishes out the season.

Let a hungry hotshoe win? Why don't they just sack up and win it straight up if he's that far over the hill?

No doubt he's got a lot on his plate at the moment and the fact that he's riding himself into fitness without riding during the week is unbelievable. He's 37 years old and top 20 in the world on talent and race craft alone. If that's not mind blowing to you then i don't know what to tell you.

In person.....he looks faster than the guys he is racing. It looks completely effortless it was also fun to watch his progress instead of ignoring the lcq. I like this last hurrah! Fun

He’s only going to get better as the season goes on. It’s obvious he’s not going balls to the wall yet. Let the guy enjoy the ride off into the sunset.

Not a chance. He’s not even close. Doesn’t even look like the same rider of the last year or two. They call it falling off a cliff for a reason. That’s what has happened to him. He’s a lot closer to not even qualifying for the main then he is getting a top 5.

Love reed and he’s one of my favorite riders.. but damn man it’s hard to watch him have to race thru the lcq every weekend..
No me. If he qualifies, then he deserves every moment to enjoy his farewell season. If he doesn't qualify...same thing. Reed is saying goodbye and we should all appreciate it.

He’s making the main every week. Therefore, the nay-sayers should STFU & go ride. Laughing

Reed could be a Baker Factory star student and still be a 38 yr old struggling in the LCQ’s. Carmichael dipped out as the points leader in the Nationals. I think and hope Reed’s doing it for monetary reasons.
Have you googled Reeds net worth? He is doing it for the the love of the sport and record of most main events.

He doesn't need a fund-raiser I'm sure, but that doesn't mean there's not an incentive to ride.

Kind of unrelated but the picture above made me think of it but DBO easily has some of the worst opinions I think I've ever heard when it comes to this sport. I don't even care much for Forkner but wow that guy is a clown.

Poor Reed is in every race getting spanked, a bunch of asslickers helping him heal his wounds.

So you’re picturing Chad getting his ass licked after a spanking. I get it now.

CR22 is moving up each week and he should start making it from heat races.

He was very close to making it from the heat this week!

Poor Reed, worth approx 25 million, he’s out there in his last season qualifying for every race so far, he doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. He is probably thinking about retirement and hanging with his wife and kids, let him do what the fuck he’s doing. Fukkin morons...

Most of those “hungry hotshoes” can’t do 20 +2 with a full offseason. They are done after the LCQ. Just lining up in the final to get their check.

At 38 you still have it physically, should be able to put down a 10.20 in a 100m at least. Reed could be enjoying riding more now than ever. If he,s satisfied with the effort he is putting in, that,s all that matters. Plus he raced a car at road America in Wisconsin, anyone who spends time in wi. Can,t get it out of there mind. Just ask Robert plant- led zeplen. Beer, great cheese, canoe rides with your lady and a chance to feel free
