Every time the weather turns bad, or even looks like it's going to, Windham's name pops up as a favourite. I notice RacerX even called him a mud specialist.

Is this perception based on actual race results, or is it just based on the reasoning that his smooth style should translate to a better result in slippery conditions?

I think that all started with the Mudder at A1 in 2005. His win when Reed DNF'd at the jet ski race in Daytona helped grow his reputation as a mud rider.

He is solid in the mud, not sure he is a mud specialist.

Like today, for years Reed has, more often than not, out performed KW in the mud. But you watch, next sloppy race KW lines up for, everyone will call his name. I like Kevin, but it's weird.

This.

Reed is better than KDub in the mud, yet he's hardly mentioned whenever it rains.

Reed is an all around better rider than Windham, so when he beats him, no matter the conditions, it is unremarkable.

On several instances Windham has beaten Reed in the Mud, which is unusual.

I would say Windham's chances of winning go up when the rain comes down. That's why I said I think he's a solid mud rider, but not a specialist.

Yep Reeds Daytona ride was epic, RC lapping the whole field was another epic mud ride. Kevin is extremely good in mud but not a mud specialist. He rides extremely good on all track conditions just as Reed and RC do.
