Stewart got tested and caught taking PEDs a couple of weeks after that race. His dosage was limited and as a result he never won a race again. So unless amphetamine is legalized in pro MX it is highly unlikely we will see another performance like that.

Are we all going to just pretend like Roczen at A1 wining by 20 seconds or even RC4 at Seattle in 2003 when he came from dead last to second with only less then 10 laps to go. Or lets throw in Reed at A2 in 2014! passing the best of the best from 7th and passed Stewart, Roczen, Villi and Dungey to take the win. and on that note.. twotwo was a privateer.

I really think we'll never seen an amateur rider come into the pro ranks the way Carmichael and Stewart did. Those days are gone.

Why?

Well, one thing is, I think the speed that 250/450 4-strokes is peaking to a point where the rider holds on for dear life and makes it or crashes their brains out. I feel like Stewart found where that line was.

The other, the 4-strokes make it easier to go faster, it flattened the depth and skill required to race. Don't get me wrong, the pros are insanely talented, but that 0.01% of talent at the tippy-top isn't a separation anymore. Like, when Stew came in, he was the very top of 0.001% talent and no one could touch him. Everyone got equipment that allowed them to keep momentum at nearly the peak speed in corners etc, this took away Stew's pure talent advantage.

So, I just think rides like that won't happen anymore because the talent is too close because the bikes allow it.
Didn't Reed win all but 2 races of the east coast in his rookie year in the US? and then was only 2 points off beating RC4 the following year in his rookie 250cc championship

Shit man, Bubba just disappeared! Went from enjoying fame and fans to nothing. Then a teaser come back post here and there to somebody with a buddy who's a reliable source says he's racing somewhere. It would be nice if he would post something every now and then even if it's bass fishing.
