Will the World Champ version of Febvre be back for 2019?

As stated, will he find that form, style and bike performance from 2015 that netted him the big trophy, bucks and all the ass he could eat?

As long as ‘18 Herlings shows up, doesn’t matter.

But to answer your question, no. I doubt we’ll see him at that level again.

You have to be in it to win it of course, but in 15 was he ever at the top level speed wise? He shows flashes of it nowadays definitely. I admittedly didn't follow the GPs super close back then like I do now.

He was good. Definitely impressive for a rookie (and not even a top rookie, he wasn't even close to winning the MX2 title).
But even the 2015 Febvre would have nothing for the current Cairoli or Herlings.
And I don't think he will ever be as good as them. Gajser could reach that level, he's young enough, and still learning

I hate saying it cause he is a solid top 3 to 5 guy in the current field and could be a race winner, but his 2015 title was helped tremendously by injuries to everyone ahead of him in points before he went on his role. AC222, Desalle, Nagl, and Villopoto all got hurt in consecutive weeks. Febvre was a 5-6 place guy to start the year and as guys got hurt he took over.

He dominated the end of that season and Even in 2016 he had a couple good races to start the year then Gajser took over the series.

When was the last time he won a GP moto?

The GP’s could really use for Febvre and Gajser to reach top form to try and compete with Herlings and Carioli

I hope he does cause like said above, that late season form looked so good. Confidence is a wonderful thing. If only I could bottle it on mass and start selling. I'd call it EGO !! with two exclamation marks

Gajser ,Febvre and rest will probably race for that spot left on podium .
Dont see any of them beat Herlings or Cairoli , they are just a level above when fit ...
A fit Gajser is the best of the rest in my opinion ,and on some tracks get close but he needs to stop crashing ..

Febvre hasn’t been the same since Matterly Basin in 16. Gasjer is the hope as his strengths are different than Herlings/AC who have the same strengths and “weaknesses” if you can say they have a weakness. That is ACs problem too, His strengths are the same as Herlings but he is not quite as strong and his weakness is a little weaker than Herlings which is why you need someone like Gasjer who is great on Hard Pack if you want to switch up the winners more. But the GPs are slowly killing off Hardpack tracks it seems. It’s fitting though that the other guy to get a win was DeSalle, again on a hardpack track.

Febvres top level is gone after the insane amount of head injuries that he has had. Like Park Boys mentioned, the crash at Matterly in 2016 was the nail in the coffin. I think he will be a solid top 5 guy but there is no way that he wins races if the two KTMs are on the same track.

As for Gajser, he is still capable of winning races if things goes his way and he stays healthy. But he will not win a title if the KTMs stay healthy.

Desalle will always be a contender on the hard pack tracks. We saw that in the Russian GP last year.

He had such confidence the year he won the title. It didnt matter where he started he never gave up and was blistering fast. He is still very very fast but something has been lacking. Possible he has hasnt been 100% since 2015.
Same thing can be said about gajser.

I hope febvre and gajser can show theyre speed in 2019. They just need to stay healthy!

Febvre now has a personnal trainer: Jacky Vimond.
We ll see in a few weeks if that move is the right key to find success again...
