So where does everyone think Tomac, and the rest of our 450 pilots will place against the insanely fast mxgp boys? I realize that some of our guys really don't want to be there but damn, you still got to race and I would like to think some of our top boys wouldn't want to lose on any track on our home soil? What do you guys think and where will we place?

Yes.

Gajser and Febvre probably are faster overall right now. However, being on home soil with familiar surroundings really can change things. Tomac has the ability to be the fastest in the world on a given day. Doesnt appear that Tomac is currently in a position to show speed like he has before, but the possibility is there. There are several Yanks that could be faster, and this GP could go that way. Any mixing of finishing of Yanks and Euros could be both expected and understood.

Hopefully I didnt offend anyone by shortening geographic locations.

For all intense and purpose the final positioning for the GP's are in place... barring hell and high water...... the two US rounds will be for pride and prestige between the European and US riders..... if they choose to battle. Regardless I've purchased my GH passWoohoo

Gh is so much different than any track in Europe, he will have a big advantage. Even without the advantage he would easily battle for the win on any track. So yeah I'd bet on him to win the thing at GH. Not sure about Charlotte

You would expect Tomac to be fast at GH - faster than at the start of the season. But antthing can happen....

Tomac will win Glen Helen, but Charlotte will be an even playing field.

Look at GH last year. Grant was as fast as Febvre. Grant wouldn't be much of an issue going up against Tomac at any ama track, including GH. there's no reason why Tomac shouldn't win GH. Charlotte will be a much more even playing field. That will be the real test for Tomac. Correct me if I'm wrong, Charlotte is kind of supercrossy so he should have an advantage there too.

The GP guys have had what, 4 years at Glen Helen now? They should be starting to catch on. That being said, with how Tomac had been riding, I wouldn't guarantee him a win.

If he starts out front I see no reason why he can't win.

He's going to find a way not to be at either race. Stamp it!

it's an off season race for him, so he is going to be as good as he wants to. Don't count out anderson for glen helen, he will be fast.

Anything other than a win from Tomac at GH would surprise me. Charlotte, well it depends on the track, if it is rutted like in switzerland, I guess the GP guys will have an advantage, but if it is more like a big SX track, it is Tomacs race again.

He'll be in the mix for a win i don't doubt that. But don't count out Gajser , Febvre, Cairoli, Nagl (if he gets the start...).

The MXGP guys have really been riding at a gnarly level the past few years. Especially last 2 seasons with Febvre & Gajser stepping up to the big boys the level keeps getting pushed. All in all it's gonna be awesome to throw some USA riders in the mix. Should lead to some awesome racing Cool

If second Moto Southwick turns up, maybe, if second moto Unadilla turns up, not a chance.

Apart from Townley, as it stands now everyone is fit in MXGP, relatively speaking , Cairoli is almost back to where he needs to be, Febvre looked better in Frauenfeld, and Desalle is looking more like his old self.. so he will be in the deepest field he has been in for a long time. Tixier is back too, the only 'weak' factory seat is Jasikonis, and I don't know if he is going.

Either way it should be good.. assuming he races

Josh Grant and Glen Helen is a bit of an anomaly though. Remember he won the opening moto of the Lucas Oil series in 2014. His 2015 GH results were poor because it was his first race back after some terrible injuries sustained in a bad practice crash.

I'll be surprised if Tomac turns up to race either of them. If he does he'll more than likely win GH, but he's probably not interested enough

I think more than anything he wants a long off season to dial that KXF in for Supercross. His year was disappointing and he and Kawasaki expect him to win championships. I don't think skipping MXoN or the GP's if that happens has anything to do with a long vacation. He needs to win next year and on a regular basis. The pressure was on this year to perform and next year will be ten fold.

If the Charlotte race was a typical overseas GP circuit, I wouldn't expect much. But with it being on home soil and the track being man made, I really think anything short of a podium would be a disappointing performance for Tomac.

Sounds like corner speed at this race is going to be the determining factor on this experimental "SuperCourse" style track design. The words "parastyle megadrop corner" are certainly intriguing..

"From the starting gate to the first corner, riders will turn their throttles wide open, coming directly at the grandstand crowd before turning onto a championship course to be filled with banzai jumps, faster, wider straights and twisting turns that will force the best to contort as they never have to traverse these unique corners. Among the many unique challenges planned will be the "parastyle megadrop" corner, where riders will blast from outside of the main fence line and drop in to one of the circuit's most challenging corners."
