Because we would know, right? Just pullin. I don't know it's hard to say really. I'm sure it took everyone by surprise (except Travis Pastrana) that he won last weekend. I'm not gonna give you a percentage but I think the chances are good..

His lap times were good and nobody seemed to catch him or TC, so I think with a good start definitely. Those two rode a great race. It's nice seeing different people up front as well as good clean racing.

It could go either way, it comes down to the start. It looks like we have 6 guys who can podium on any given weekend (7 if Stewart wasn't hurt), and I don't see how any of them can come through from a bad start. I think the podium will pretty much be determined by which of those 6 guys starts in the top 3 spots.

It's going to be about the start, everyone's speed is so close I don't see somebody coming through the pack. Davi did pull a pretty good start, that bike was working great.

How long has it been since it was so hard to even guess the podium?
What a great year to be a fan of the sport!
I am going to say that davi will be in the top 4.
i think next weekend goes, Stew, RV, Dung, DM, and Reedy
i look for Reed to get a win or podium by round 3-4.
A good start is the only garuntee for a win anytime soon, as i dont
think that the feild is going to just let anyone by this year, as evident
by Grant/Poto, and Stew finishing 8th. Years past people would just
pull over for the top guys, but i think there are so many guys in shape
and healthy, that there is a diff mindset at the mid/back of the pack.

Seems like everytime someone wins or has a good ride, the next week things don't go their way (excluding the usual championship condensers) look at short and his awful array of races after his win.
Bad luck sucks!

Don't know if he'll podium or not but I guarantee he's on the radar now.

You can almost hear the "fab four" saying "OK Davi, that win was cool and all. You've had your fun, now get back to the middle of the pack where you belong".
I hope he continues to do well.

Did he even break a sweat in Anaheim? I'd say he has a damn good shot at it.

Yeah very hard to say. If he does it will make a big impression on everyone, if it hasnt already. He was 0% chance of a podium in most people's eyes right up until sat. Even after the heat race I doubt many people gave him a chance. Will be a great race this weekend.

Podium? Absolutely. Maybe not top spot, but on the box for sure.

He's always been a bad mama-jamma. Now he's a bad mama-jamma with the confidence of a solid win against a stacked field under his belt. Hopefully it works for him.

i see no reason why he can't. looked like he was cowtrailing with an old IT 175 at A1. He had so much more left in the tank, it appeared to me anyways.

In my opinion there are 7 guys capable of win/ poduim. And only 3 spots so I think chances are 14,2%

One race has completely changed people's thoughts on Davi, but maybe it shouldn't come as too big of a surprise that he is having success since he had a great healthy offseason, on a new team AND I believe last year he found out he was allergic to something that was constantly making him ill if I remember correctly? Can someone clarify this? I give him a 15% chance I think that's about right.

Yes he can, it is also pretty obvious from his remarks that DM clearly understands he needs to be a little more aggressive to be and remain at the front, for me in 2012 he was super consistent but also a gentleman too much of the time, he doesn't need to send people to the moon but he does need to inform them with authority that he is keeping or takiing a certain spot.

His lap times were on point and we all know he can run at the top based on his performance @ A1, how that will transpire on a different track who knows.

In all honesty I expect a very different podium this weekend

No way. Top ten. RV1 will be on a mission. Bam Bam was keeping up with Trey and Davi to he lost it in the whoops, his rear end was kicking out alot in that set of whoops. Plus the weight of his first start in the big boy class gone. Trey built some confidence and the weight of wondering how he will do in his first race back is gone. Trey will be faster. And of course you know RD5 and Speedy Reedy will be there also. JS7 is always a wild card.

Humm... I'd say 50% chance he'll podium with a 75% chance he'll at least be in the top 5.

Davi fully earned the win in Anaheim but regardless of who won the race, the fact remains that the champion had what can legitimately be called by his standards - an off night. So unless RV has another unlikely disaster, then Phoenix will be tougher because he's one more guy to potentially deal with.

Also given history; the longer the season goes on, the stronger guys like Reed and Dungey are going to get. Chad especially by his own admission is very sensitive to bike set-up and it takes him a while to find his groove. Basically what I'm saying is that Anaheim 1 tends to be a little bit of an odd ball race for many of the riders. It's going to get more competitive for the top 3 spots as the season progresses (not withstanding injuries).

But regardless, I thoroughly believe after last week that it's going to be a hugely impressive season for Davi this year.

I think the odds look pretty darn good. I hope he can stay in the zone he was in last week and take what the race gives him.
