Once he wraps the title up? Is it a possibility? It seems potentially beneficial for (KTM) AC222 if Herlings is pulled up. I doubt he'd intentionally block Gajser so AC could win, but he would maybe steal moto wins from GT243

I'm talking about this year, 2016. He could wrap the title up multiple rounds early.

Wrap it up early and come over here and go 1-1 at Southwick on a 450. Evil
I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves

He can't race a 250 next year, and even he's not good enough to ride a 350 and win against his comp on 450's.

Win the title in Switzerland then jump on the plane to America to race Unadilla and Budds Creek. Back on the plane to Holland and race the 450 the last 3 GPs on a 450. All possible

He has to lose a GP before, otherwise he will probably go for a perfect season (all GP wins, he lost a moto already).

He needs to score 15 points more than Seewer in the next 2 GPs to wrap up the title 4 rounds early (before the best GP of the year - Switzerland! Woohoo ).

He is busy milking every win that he can get from the feeder class. He will stick to the easy road gathering of stats until they wont let him any more.

I dont think this year , but next yr even tho I hate saying it , he will kill everyone in mx1 by a mile , I honestly think he can put a min on any 250 rider in the world at the mo . And put at least 30 sec on roczen . Ps. I hate him . But he is fmotp by far imo

No, because he's trying to break Stefan Everts record and is looking at the easiet way to stack up wins.

you sound like Everts won all his wins in the big class LaughingLaughingLaughing haters gonna hate

dont forget , there was a time a GP was just a single moto ... so Everts could wrap up 2 GP wins on a single day
250 and 500 ........ that was easy , so you get 101 much quicker he

I don't expect Jeffrey to ride the 450 if he wraps it up early.... He's going for records and when he races 250 he can easily add GP wins....

One thing you can be pretty sure of - He won't ride anything else (well, other than his Dutch Nationals) until he has the 250 title wrapped up.

You'd expect him / KTM to have learned about Risk vs Reward the last 2 years.

His obsession with records might just keep him in the 250 class for the rest of the year, one would think. But, I'm sure he'd be able to do whatever the hell he wanted, when / if he sews up the 250 title early.

Separately - with regards to riding / racing a 450:

His speed and riding style on a 250, would, and has, transferred so well to the 350. I know he's ridden the 450 quite a lot recently, whilst having used the 350 to great effect in a couple of MXDNs in years past. I wonder if KTM would be waiving even more megabucks / Guilders / Euros, on top of the millions he gets from them already, in front of him to see if he will consider using a 350 ( or at least a 350 based bike) in MXGP next year?

Pull your head out. How many of everts 101 were in the feeder class? This needs to be separated to how many wins were in the big boy class and how many were in the feeder class. Before the rules were changed 3 years ago to make him happy with his feeder class win grab he would of been forced out then. Yes he is fast but his easy way choice in his obsessed march toward everts win total will forever give him a black eye to any true fan of the sport that has any common cense.

Where are the threads asking who's gonna be the guy to "step it up" and consistently give him a run for his money?

I'm a true fan of the sport with common sense, and I don't think Herlings has a black eye. Common sense says that you can't sandbag the pro class, and it also says that there have been plenty of other guys who have stayed in the lites class or the equivalent. Mark Barnett, Jeff Ward, and Johnny O'Mara -- all legends of the sport -- stayed the 125 class for numerous years (I believe O'Mara and Ward were in it for 6+). Herlings is young, and has plenty of time to move up. The only one's who seem to think he's sandbagging are the keyboard warrior's who set up some arbitrary standard of what sandbagging is. You can bet the MXGP class is glad he hasn't moved up yet because they know he's going to be a serious threat from the start.

None of Everts wins were in a "Feeder Class", all three GP level championships; 125, 250, 500 were open w/o restrictions so anybody could ride them. That's not the case for MX2 today as we know.

He did here in 2012 in a eace before the MXdN ,and put the best part of a minute over some decent names,Bobby,Strijbos,Simpson ,Ken,the kid is way faster now and technical I'd say but who knows how he'd get on. https://youtu.be/hKHQsr2K5HQ

Your logic then also states that Herlings is just fine as well, right? If not for a new rule change, because he is so dominant, he would still be eligible next season. Those are the rules, so what's the problem?

Says the guy who enters every thread about Herlings to tell us what a sandbagger is. Wink

Well, learn what a sandbagger is and you have nothing left to worry about.
