Will Alta be in 250f shootout

Edited Date/Time 9/26/2017 9:58pm
Will any of the 250f shootouts put the Alta in them? Would be cool to see how it really stacks up. They would have to bring a truck full of batteries lol

Sorry if this has already talked about, but I looked and didn't find it.

I think Keefer might be working on it.

Answer this, is it a 250F?
The 250f is the bike Alta is competing with in terms of power to weight ratio and performance. Or maybe its the 350f. If it wins the 250f shoot out, then it can be compared to the 350f, and maybe we can shoot it out with the 450s. All made possible by the standard set forth by comparing the 350s against the 450s as has been done so often. Two wheels, twist grip throttle, same size wheels, suspension systems compatible, lets see how it stacks up. Price could make it lose, operation cost could help it win. Answer this, is it a motorcycle?

Jeez I guess the next time the guy wants to post he should call you up as you seem to know his opinion better than him.

Meanwhile back to electricity..

I suspect that even if it can run faster lap times and win the start by a bunch, testers will find a way to say for twice the price they can make any other bike do the same.

Was a 250F a 125??

It would be interesting to see how the Alta compares to a 250F. Very interesting!

Most shootouts don't factor cost into which wins so while does it even matter? It's purely a performance base.
I say include it in a shootout, if they think it doesn't compare...more or less...then just put it in as a separate review.

Thats like telling me the winning 250f is comparable to a 350f. Shootouts arent just based off of the power of the bike, alta clearly states this is to the equivalent of a 250f. Having seperated two strokes from four how is anyone gonna think electric bikes are in a four stroke shootout?

How much per year for a factory level race engine in that 250f? You can't go out and just race the stock 250f motor.

Those things are rockets at the pro level.

I don't think Alta will be able to do anything about the drivetrain in their bike for race. It'll obviously have a-kit suspension but the rest will likely be stock, with a custom map for the rider.

We're talking about Shootouts here...not pro racing and extended costs.

Line it up with 250 's 450 's.....whatever you want to compare it to. Drag race to first turn a couple times......then take some lap times. Maybe even a couple of 5 lap motos.

That should tell you where it really belongs at this time.

I get what you're saying. I'm thinking the term "250f" is just used how "Lights Bikes" was when the 125 and 250f where compared. The shootout is suppose to be for amateur riders not pro's. In amateur racing the the 250f races against the Alta AND 250 2strokes, but no one will add them to the shootout because they don't want to upset the manufacturers. so we will never get a real shootout, because the media in controlled by the bike makers. Now I will sit in my corner with my foil hat and be quite before they make me take my meds.

Wish they'd keep em separate, they're apples and oranges.

f1 and motogp have separate electric support classes. A bit different than shootouts but they're just not the same bike. They don't include 350's in 450 shootouts for this reason.

But, this is for the masses. A tight track with a light guy, the smaller bike wins. Opposite is true the other way. All bikes, lots of tracks, lots of test riders. Some small improvements, tires, handlebars, suspension clickage, shat like that, is real-world.

Ask Keefer to put a baseball card in its spokes. If it sounds like a 250f it is a 250f

I didn't tell you its like a 350, I implied testers may find it similar to 350 power. Point being we wont know unless we try it huh? Lets start by putting it in any shootout, then see where that takes us. Or we can just bitch slap the op like you did. You ever write on the walls with your own poop?

I'm not sure why most folks feel that only established "media" outlets like (insert name of magazine or social media source) can be entrusted to provide legitimate shootout comparisons. Heck, just locate willing owners of the brands you want tested and arrange to meet at a couple of tracks so everyone can spin some laps on each bike. Afterwards, everyone fills out a quick questionnaire on each bike then votes on the best bike top to bottom. The writer of the group compiles all the comments and data and generates the final report to be made available on this site.

I volunteer to supply myself and the Alta. Who else is in?

That would suck for the Suzuki rider. They would realize they bought the wrong bike, lol.

It's neither a 250 or an F (4 stroke), so why would it be?
