RacerX (Eric Johnson), just posted a great little interview with MC, and towards the end of the interview Eric asked him whether or not he gives Eli any advice, and the King simply responded, "No, Certainly not." And went on to say that he would never insert himself into something that he wasn't invited to with respect to any advice-was basically the message. My question is, with such an amazing resource, why wouldn't Team Tomac seek a little more advice from the King? I mean, he is the GOAT of SX. I mean Tomac is pure badass and all but I just wonder why they wouldn't consider utilizing every available resource available to them to win titles. Seems like MC would be the perfect mentor, and is still very active on the bike and looks to be in pretty dang good shape to boot. It was a great interview and MC does say that he gets along great with Tomac and all, so its all good in this department.

I'm sure that was a professional response from the king so as to not steal the spotlight and undermine Eli's professional aptitude. If you think these guys are under the same tent and not bouncing ideas off everyone on that team you're insane.

Easy man. I assure you I am quite sane. I'm sure they do, but it sounds like not to the degree they probably could is all.

Maybe the choice was simply to not make public anything about advice requested or given...

I am sure they talk and MC tells old stories that help.

On a side note .... DAMN, that is a sweet Maico.

Anyone remember the tank stickers "Maicos don't Breako"?

X2. He would have been great in the booth too. Who would be a better riding coach/advisor than the King? Articulate, communicates so well and to oozes a quiet confidence that would make him very "followable" in terms of coaching.

I remember waaay back in the No Fear days there was an ad that had, if I remember correctly, 3 things he lived by (or something). I can't remember what the others were but I definitely remember one was 'Don't give advice take it'..
So maybe he fucken meant that shit haha
