Just got back from the track. Looks great!

But, there are lots of flies there! Bring bug spray if you are going tomorrow!

Question: why are flies there now if they only trucked in mulch? Is it a combo poo/mulch: thusly named pulch? (joke, for those of you who think I am serious, jeeze! )

thats just from the city of Elsinore....it has nothing to do with the dirt.....

usually bugs are more active around places where large bodies of water are...IE: Lake Elsinore

Duh, Brad! I have ridden there loads of times, and for some reason it was worse today. I don't know why? I was only cracking a joke about the "pulch", but I am serious about the bug spray.

Nothing to do with the town. But calling that mud puddle a lake isn't right either. Way back when the TTrack and sometime MX track was next to the dump and you worried more about the rats if you spent the night there.

Guys its the compost they brought in. Its plant life decomposing and flies eat it and lay eggs in it. Its nothing but a fly. But with the heat and the humidity it could be worse tomorrow. Keep your mouth closed and enjoy the races.

They did not truck anything in - they are not allowed to - the compost you are talking about comes from the trees that line the lake. They cut them down and ground them up and added it into the existing soil.

improvements are for television only...they want the place to look pretty...whoever spends the most on their track gets on television...

This leaves some open questions about the racing!

Will the flies play a major role in the 250 championship decision?
Will they start the races "on the fly"?
Will Fly Racing rider Andrew Short have any advantages because of this?
And the biggest question at all: Would that have happened if we still had 2smokers racing?

:-)

We got through the love bug plague during the '96 Florida gold cup series at Sunshine raceway. Only casualties were a few tear offs and the bugs' strange ability to glue themselves to the side of white trailers. You don't want to pull rig washin' duty during love bug season.
And for what it's worth, the dirt at Sunshine/Ona really WAS made of shit.
