Could set quite the precedence... imagine if everyone that gets hurt in sx sues Feld.... granted, they certainly have the cash... but a literal circus like feld isn't gonna dig writing very many 8 digit checks.. even when duely owed....

And while most of the time the med team does a great job.... they seem quite lacking on the really serious stuff.. like when moreau crashed...

Lol, they have the cash to pay millions of dollars to injured riders? And you know this how? They are a private company so not sure how exactly you’ve seen their books.

Moreau is suing for negligence and based on what people have stated in this thread regarding the handling of him post crash he may have a case. People sue for negligence all of the time. Almost every time a track operator gets sued it is for negligence so not much precedence to make. The vast majority of riders injuries do not involve negligence. If they did, Feld would be getting sued left and right.

Also I believe it would be extremely difficult to prove anything the meds did had an impact on his health after the initial crash.

The owner of FELD is a billionaire. Simple google search will show they have money lol.

Plus I'm sure they have quite the insurance policies in place for lawsuits like this.

Whether or not they caused more injury to Brian will be hard to tell but there can always be a possibility since they didn't act how a reasonable Paramedic/Doctor would act and were negligent. Not sure what protocols or scope of practice they fall under since they travel do different races in different counties. It doesn't help their case that the paramedics they transferred care to in Tampa recognized the severity of the injury and placed him in SMR and the trackside crew didn't even do that. Already shows the trackside crew didn't act reasonably.

What'll probably happen is the track crew will get subpoenaed and go to court and testify. They'll have other paramedics and doctors there to testify how a reasonable medic & Dr. would handle a trauma situation and 100% of the time they would do it differently than the accused, since the accused most likely didn't follow protocols for that type of injury spot on, thus proving they didn't act reasonably and could have caused further injury since proper precautions were not taken. I think Brian has a good chance of bringing some money home. Smells bad for all involved, unfortunately Brian got the worse end of the stick.

You’re confusing personal wealth with the cash flow and assets of the company. If Feld gets sued, Kenneth Feld won’t be writing a personal check. And no insurance carrier is just going to sit back and cut checks for millions of dollars. A couple of those and they will be uninsurable.

Likely this will all get settled out of court. Right vs wrong doesn’t matter. Lawsuits get filed. Then the insurance companies get in a room and hammer out a deal.

These corporate companies pay the riders like crap. FELD is not for the riders. It’s a business only. And generally insurance companies are just a sliver above lawyers in the scum of earth food chain.

Pay up.

It’s not going to affect their bottom line for the quarter.

Company does over a billion a year in revenue. Again... They have money.

People don't become billionaires by running a low profit company.
