The only time I remember a track being ran two times in a year was due to another track flooding. Is there really no other tracks worthy or fit for holding a national?

Hard to believe there is not 12 national caliber tracks who want to host a race.

My question as well. DC has talked about finding other tracks in other states but stiil 2 rounds at that place.

There's another track about an hour north of Pala, that I hear would be an excellent place to have a national mx race.

Area 51 (3323 Harloff Rd, Batavia, NY 14020) wants a National but I believe there is some politics blocking them. It's a world class venue.

Hope DC will find a way to find another venue for the final round, it sucks to see a track twice

Mammoth mx racetrack would be cool. Pala is just manmade flat track.

Because Socal is still the center of MX racing in the states. With that said I would love to see Glen Helen back on the schedule.

Mammoth mx races were awesome.
The old norba races were legendary.
Uphill, X-C, and the kamikaze DH was epic.

Rode expert, and semi pro DH here on the east coast.
But nothing as blazingly fast as that DH.

John Tomac in his skinsuit and 60 tooth chainring was a sight to see.

Pala is not my favorite venue but it still produces a good race for me, but the need for two rounds there is unacceptable in my world. The Nationals can do better, come on!

To be clear, I was just pointing out that we just had multi rounds at a few facilities. I’d like nothing more than to have Glen Helen back on the schedule, but it doesn’t seem like we will have that.

There are plenty of tracks that would be a great race track for a national, but from what I have read/heard, the tracks have to pay a lot of money to hold the race at their facility, along with a long list of upgrades to their facility to meet the demands of powers to be. Most tracks can not afford to do this and it just doesn’t make financial sense to do so.

As much as I like Mammoth and have spent the last 30 years racing there, it will never hold a national race there and without adding a bunch of new sections/ jumps, it doesn’t make for a national caliber track. Not to mention the logistical nightmare it would be, to get everyone back into the track.

I’m sure I missed something but why no more WW ranch ? I think Covid had something to do with it back in 2020 .. but it’s been gone since 🤷‍♂️ bring Muddy Creek back. not the best facility for a National but it’s better than Pala .. TWICE

For those that have been to both Pala and Glen Helen nationals... which has the worse traffic getting out? I heard Pala took some people 3 hours to get out

Why does it have to cost so much? Many complain about the greedy Italian holding teams and tracks hostage overseas, but seems things aren’t much better over here. I’ve been to Millville, Red Bud, Iron Man and Budds Creek. They are nice facilities but haven’t seen any amazing infrastructure in place at any of them. Seems MX Sports “could” have a race somewhere else, maybe not make as much profit, but the don’t want to. Their business, their choice, but that choice may bring out some critics of the plan (and no I wouldn’t want to deal with Bud either, I know we don’t know the entire story, but it seems he’s been given every opportunity to hold a national again)

I agree it is a awesome venue but no way could it handle a National size crowd

Good question. I could speculate the costs, but I’d only be guessing. I’m all in for replacing Pala for a different venue, hopefully mxsports can figure something out to please the fans.

Area 51 or Miles Mountain would be incredible for a national.

Mammoth would be epic but the facilities aren't even close to the size needed to host a National. Even for the amateur race, Kawasaki can't bring their rig into the property. It's impossible. And the track is only permitted to be raced on once a year.
