Maybe he’s faster than most of us and experiences the machine / item differently. And conversely the stuff that would work well for us, doesn’t suit him, gets reflected upon in his write ups and then goes full circle when Joey C class hero reads something unfavorable about his recent purchase and gets chapped

I like Keefers pods, but i do believe there may be a bit of bias in there. Example: 2018 450 shoot out they said they were keeping the bikes stock, wouldn't even put a different front tyre on the RMZ, which they all agreed would make the bike better. But when it came to the Yamaha they had some issues with power delivery so they ran a custom map given to them by Travis Preston, and by all accounts on the pod cast it made the bike a lot better. Well in my opinion that's not stock, unless the custom map came with the bike. So they were prepared to change the Yamaha to make it better but not the Suzuki. Is there bias in that to bump the Yamaha up? Sure seemed like it. But apart from that i think Keefer is awesome on the pulp show.
Why not, the map is available and free. It's transfered to your yammie with a smartphone.

He has definite bias toward KTM and YAm, he thinks they do no wrong, and he talks shit to other testers like ML who disagree. Typical Pro who thinks he knows more than anyone slower than him.
Keefer is paid to do some R&D testing by an OEM but that brand has not won any of his shootouts. I asked him to post something about a sponsors product and he said he couldn't do it because he hadn't had a good experience with the product. Which was fine with me.

He loves Yamaha's right now because, look around, almost all the shootouts have been blue on top in both classes. He has companies that pay him to test their products for performance and durability and there's not been a peep from him to me about promoting any of these brands on the show.

He's got integrity and everyone in the industry knows this. "Talking shit" to ML is all part of being a friend of his. Guess you don't think so.

He said good things about KTM and Yamaha. Must be biased. Sure. Couldn’t be that the bikes are good.

If you hate someone else's opinion or statement then post your and people will either hate it or like it. Its not rocket science.

. he is honest in his "OPINION" which is what all tests center on and he tries his best to convey how each bike feels and performs. and if you view bikes tests on the whole you'll see that most people will have similar views in regards to how bikes feel and perform. maybe people rank them differently but that comes to preferences

I read his shit all the time. 1. OP If you can do better, bro, have at it. 2. Maybe just maybe yam and ktm are on point as of late? I thought he had good things to say about the kawi? 3. Regardless of speed, I think being able to change parts and settings and identify the changes enough to construct legitimate feedback is an entirely different skill. Which he is good at. Sorry he didn’t jump on the nuts of your ride.
this, and he said the 2019 CRF250R was pretty damn good too...

I have zero problem with changing the mapping, if that map is available pre loaded on to your tuner. It's was the word "custom" I found interesting, if your dealer can load a custom TP map on there, then it's all good.

I’m sure there’s a whole lot of things you don’t understand. People like you make me not want to go on vital. I think I’m gonna take a little vital break. Just too much dumb

Your dealer could load it or you as a user, at no cost at all.

Keefer is 100% moto. The dude is super accessible to us common folk and as honest as they come. When he speaks, I listen and I usually learn. Awesome dude that I’d love to kick back with, have a few beers and talk moto.

As a tester he's supposed to give his true feelings on products... So your upset he's open about products he likes? Yes he's very biased to KTM and Yamaha, that's why he just bought a husky....

As everyone is saying, the tuner app is free and included with the bike. If any other bike came with a tuner app they’d be free to change the mapping for the shootout tests as well. It just so happens that Yamaha is ahead of the game in this area. And, the maps are on Yamaha’s site.

Keefer is a moto dude, and his enthusiasm about everything moto comes out in his tests and observations. I count on his tests to get a better than good baseline for any bike I ride that he has tested.

Yes the advertising is over the top, but it pays bills I am sure.

Regarding the Yamaha, new Yamaha don’t come preloaded with a power map. One HAS to load a map from the power tuner app, if you want to ride it as designed.

The bottom line is.....when I watch / read a test on any bike , I take it with a grain of salt. Meaning , I'm interested in what numerous riders say about specific things on the bikes , but other things , I don't give a shit what they may think. A 135lb pro will have a completely different outlook on a bike compared to a 220lb vet novice. Height , weight , experience , where they rode the bike , ect , ect....it differs......a LOT!!

I think he’s a stand up guy. He does not have a big head on him. His Keefer after dark is known world wide. He has done many test on pornhub.com and has had great reviews. Keep it up Keefer, He***er depends on you.

In the words of Rick Bobby if you don't like Keefer then FUCK YOU! Also the wealth of his sexual knowledge far outreaches anything you will learn in high school health class!

Btw....Keefer has always been a good dude I think. And I know he favors the KTM / Husky / Yamaha's.....but I take that into consideration before hand.

Probably because he has credibility, is willing to help the average rider, and puts out a good product whether it is in listening or print form.

Whereas when you get done reading a post from the OP you feel like saying:

Hey guys.. These types of threads pop up once every few months or so and I absolutely know that my website/podcast/reviews aren’t for EVERYONE out there. I get it. I really wish I could make EVERYONE happy, but the simple truth is, I learned the hard way that I can't.

With that being said however I started my company so there was transparency with media testing. No matter how I feel or what I think (good or bad) I want to let all of you (consumers) know about it. I am not the GOSPEL of testing nor have I ever claimed to be. I have preached in my previous pods to go to the trusted source that you feel secure with. If it is Vital, Michael, Jody, Donn or just your buddy down the street, by ALL MEANS LISTEN TO THEM. I am trying to bring all of my years of OEM testing knowledge to you guys and have it accessible to you in case you have questions about your purchases. I felt the accessibility for the average guy wasn't there in our industry, so I opened myself up and answer 95% of the questions I get sent to my email. I felt like most media outlets were unreachable/untouchable and neglected the consumer (past what they put in print or on the web). I really try hard to give you my honest opinion on everything that you may have questions about. BUT THAT IS ALL IT IS. IT'S MY EDUCATED HONEST OPINION. It's not the gospel or the good book! If you think my opinion is shit, I understand, it's cool.

I do love a Yamaha, KTM and Husqvarna's A LOT! Why? Because they are great machines for 2019. This doesn't mean that all other bikes are piles of crap though. If you listen to my pods I explain why the Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda's are all great in there own right. I spent my own money on a 2019 Honda CRF450R and Husqvarna FC450 Rockstar Edition so to say I am biased towards certain brands is complete BS.

Do I like 250F's? YES! Do I prefer it? No! However I can tell what a good 250 four stroke is and how to pick it apart for the average consumer. That was my job at many OEM's for many years! I have seen and tested a lot of stuff and continue to do so. Unlike a professional factory motocross test rider, production test riders (like myself) have to come up with a setting that the average consumer will be happy with and that is what goes onto the dealership floors. I continue that trend with Keefer INC. I am not here just to let you guys know about what type of bike is right for me, I am here to fill you in on what type of bike may be right for you. Again, if you trust in me and the way I evaluate then I will do what I can for you. If you don't, it's fine there are tons of other test riders out there to listen to.

PS. I don't talk shit on Michael. He is a smart kid that has a big heart and is very technical with his evaluations. I think Vital is going to have a huge hole in their testing department with him not being there. Will I give him shit? Yes! Absolutely. That's what buddies do!

Oh and yes I am not a fan of two-strokes, but we will be testing more of these in 2019. The real answer is that I have to prioritize my work. I am not a huge company so I do MOST of the work/tests/evaluations/riding/pods/articles myself. I am trying to get more help and promise not to neglect two-strokes just because I don't care for them. They are popular and people purchase them so we will test them over here!

For those that listen to Pulp MX and Keefer Tested, thank you. For those of you that don't, it's ok, l am good with that. Hope to see you at the track someday to hopefully change your mind! -KK

Don’t get upset about anything on Vital. There are folks here who probably bitch about the sun rising in the east. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s a great resource to all of us.
