I think it was between the years 84 - 85 the bikes delivered here to the states started following the European " white / red " color scheme. By what?.....86 they had completely abandon the yellow all together. What was the reason?
Keep costs down? Didn't want to compete with another yellow bike out there ( Suzuki ) ?
I thought the Yamaha's looked great in yellow. They also looked great in the white and red ( which you can still find if you look hard enough )......just never been a fan of the blue. Don't know why....I just don't dig it.
These color schemes are badass to me.....they just look right.

The Shop
It would been nice to have booked that Toyota one with Clint Bowyer! That would've been cool to kick it with him on set about MX/SX/Nascar!
Has to be something with the plastic itself right?
I'm Black in my daily life, but in the commercial I was cast as the young White kid Zac/Larry
...just kidding, they cast me as the Black guy...again!
That Red/White Yamaha is smoking! i don't think I'm feeling the Pieck one though.
Black rims need to go though.
I'm still waiting for the mother of all retro bikes...the Magenta YZ.
I would like one that is half pleated like that but in oem colours.
And yellow yams look terrible I much prefer blue Evan though the plastics only last 5 minutes

Suzuki "owns" yellow in my book, but Yamaha's should definitely still be red/white.
Blue just isn't agressive and racey somehow.
