I was reading an atricle on Racer X about the Joker Lane by JT$ where JT was discussing some of the changes to SX.
Some guy called Pizza Corner said, and I quote.
"The joker lane is dumb and not needed for a real racing series. The joke lane ruined an awesome race on the last lap between JS7 and RV2".

"Seems like a person that rode around like it was a Sunday trail ride for a career likes the slow down."

Why hate on JT? Was he realy that bad?

Don't read the comments section on Racer X. It can't be good for you.

Exactly. Anybody who raced has respect for JT$' career. If you don't, good chance you're not a MX fan. And he's one of the few guys who can articulate his thoughts. I value his opinion a lot.

Trolling to get a reaction and then giggling that they made people mad. Y'know like the majority of threads on this place.

Of course your right but I heard JT and Matthes bring it up on the podcast last week. Matthes brought it up and JT was pretty bummed out about it. I have a great idea for the Monster Cup though. Forget the Joker Lane. Forget the 3 race format. Forget the twin starting gates. Get JT$ to ride up and down the rythm lane in his usual odd combo of jumping and let the riders guess what he is going to do next.

Glad JT was OK though.

I don't really get it either. I'm sure most guys hear chad or matthes bust his balls and think it's ok for them to do it, too. I for one consider JT to be one of my favorite riders ever, not because of his on the bike accomplishments (which I do consider to be impressive) but for his off the bike traits. It's nice to see/hear a rider that can apply logic, think rational thoughts, spell accurately and have a working knowledge of what is actually going on outside of "the industry." Most riders probably have the reading comprehension and education of a 3rd grader, which is ok, I'm not bashing them I'm just saying that I look for more than that when I choose which riders I like. I tend to lean more towards the riders that I think I would like outside of the racing scene as opposed to in it, and JT seems to fit that mold for me. Plus he is basically a living moto encyclopedia and I do value his insight and opinions on moto very much.

With that being said, I know JT comes on here and not that I even need to say it because I'm sure he couldn't care less, but don't let ignorant assholes bother you, JT. You made a long career out of being a stand-up, marketable, peoples champ. I truly respect that.

Pizza corner has established himself as a trolling ass clown in the Racer X comments section. Ping and DC have called him out before, but that only makes it worse. Don't feed him.

Was JT$ that bad???

The dude went out and rode SX and the nationals for years , did awesome as a privateer and was one of the best privateers in the series! Any idiot that discredits JT's skills is either ignorant or just plain fucking stupid. He didn't have the career of a McGrath or RC.....but the guy made a name for himself in the sport. More than the other 6.9999999 billion other people on this planet as far as that goes.

So mr pizza corner.....keep delivering your pizza's and leave the MX shit to the guys who actually understand the sport.

Comments sections are the current cesspool of humanity. It doesn't matter if its RX or ESPN or the local newspaper. There's move to limit anonymous comments to try and reclaim a bit of civility (a local paper has eliminated them altogether, ESPN went to requiring people to comment through their Facebook account to impose a little accountability).

The comments section is the worst sort of outlier and a pretty poor reference for making any conclusions about what real world people's attitudes are if the focus is on negative comments.

you hit the nail on the head.

the problem with the Facebook sign in commenters, is that they really are that negative and shitty. it didn't seem to stop much of the slander coming from peoples thoughts onto their computer screen.

i remember GuyB had a signature along the lines of "after you're done typing, read it again and think about it before hitting submit"... i couldn't have said it any better myself. some of these trolls need to remember that just because they have the ability to be an asshole on the internet, doesn't mean they need to indulge.

Dang man, you beat me to it. You even said it better than I was going to. The comments section on Yahoo always end up 1 - turning political or 2 - bashing yahoo for not posting something political. . . It's quite a funny circle jerk. And heaven forbid someone to say anything positive at all. I don't think I've ever seen a positive thought on there. . . and if someone does post something positive, there is a slew of people ready to attack them.

I see a bit of the same here, and it makes me wonder why people give any validity to opinions that are clearly provided by idiots.

I've met and talked to JT a few times. First couple of times I thought he was kind of a grumpy rude dick. I later found out that he was just in race mode at the time and is a super nice friendly and humble guy. I think he brings a lot of unique experience and perspective to Racer X and Pulp with everything that he does. This is me and JT after the Seattle Supercross.

I met him before in the pits and he was an awesome dude, I still am impressed that he took the time to have a conversation with me. Anyone who hates on him is an idiot, nuff said.
