Just wondering... My favorite rider has been Rick Johnson. I was in my teens and just a few copies of Motocross Action where available here in Italy so we din't know much about the US Motocross scene. But Rick had the looks, he was cool and he was winning aboard the most beautiful bike and in the best MX Team ever. That was 1986 and the Team was American Honda (Johnson, Bailey and O'Mara). I travelled all the way to Maggiora to spot him at the MXdN. But, to tell the truth, the thing that impressed me that day was Johnny O' on the 125 passing Dave Thorpe on the HRC 500, I was on the first downhill, stuck to the fence, where Johnny made the first attempt, sweeeeet!

David Bailey and Travis Pastrana. David was the guy I first heard of when I got into moto as a kid. TP, well he is Travis!

Wow tough question. Good but tough. Since I have been watching motocross over the past 30 years there are a few. I would start with DeCoster, just because of his tenacity. Bailey for his Smooth style, McGrath for making the impossible and throwing me into Motocross head over heels and Pastrana for his ability to make the motocross bike dance. Since Travis has left us for the rally world, follow up to him would be Stewart. He has always amazed me, but his finally year on the 125, he was racing at Southwick. There were two guy ahead of him, he slid his ass off the back ducked and threaded the needle between both of them.

My number on choice would have to be with Roger DeCoster.

Malcolm Smith always seemed extra special ever since my father showed me On Any Sunday when I was about 10.

All time is tough to narrow down...grew up watching Marty Smith and Bob Hannah, then Johnny O'Mara and David Bailey and now the new era with RC...I have to say I am impressed with RC the most, just his work ethic and training routine in particular....

Bob Hannah, Johnny O'Mara, Ricky Johnson, RC

RJ had the biggest influence on me. Too this day, I think he is one of the best super/motocrossers of all time. His career was cut short by at least two years and I think he had at least 3 more titles in him.

JMB's and Jeff Stanton's career would had been different if RJ did not get injured.
