It's always been wild to me, that a multi million dollar company (Casinos) tell teams like RCH (Sycuan) and JGR (Cherokee) that we will write you a massive check to be title sponsor, but only if you sign a rider who barely cracks the top 20. I.E. Partridge and Teasdale. Like what makes those guys so appealing to a company? This is not a knock, just a serious question.

Connections and/or someones pet project.

Obviously Cherokee isn't going to make a dime back on this sponsorship. But when you have some cash to burn and the right connections then that's how what you described happens.

He's barely cracking the top 20 now but by the end of next year he could definitely be cracking top tens.
Top 10 where? Not the 450 usa outdoor series.

JS17 will not be at JGR. He can’t go two races without hurting something. Been like that his whole career.

Reed for SX 450
A-Mart - 250SX and MX

And I actually think they will keep Decotis or Lopes. Lopes was a rookie last year and will obviously improve going in to next year, but Decotis ran pretty good this year and I know he’s not expensive. Everyone else on their roster is gone. Not sure who they will get for the 450 class.
What? Savatgy finished 8th in SX points this year, and only missed one round. He had 12 top-10 finishes and was tied with Wilson for 5th-most laps led.

He didn't miss any SX races from 2015-2018 and only missed 3 MX races from 2014-2018.

I would say he has been one of the more durable racers over the past 5 years, until this year's MX series.

rhargrave431 makes a seriously valid point though. I get "the connections" thing but who would have the authority and freedom to take a million or millions of any company's revenue and justify spending it to help a dirtbike racer that's not only in his rookie season, he isnt a standout amateur "star" that's expected to become a future champion, hes somehow likely family related and has an in where a casino or any company for that matter can siphon off 1 to ?? Million to pay for his spot on a professional race team.
I get that they're getting the title sponsorship but as a local to one area casino, how does national exposure benefit them and especially in this sport to not have any realistic rate of return? When you really wrap your head around the logic it does seem kind of odd but good for Isaac I hope he takes advantage of the opportunity and excels into a legitimate threat for podiums and wins. For the right kind of rider, having a shot like this bought or not could be the difference between him having a long prosperous racing career as a pro or just a couple years on the circuit as a mid to back marker rider/gate filler. I'm sure there have been countless riders over the years that couldve changed the course of the history books as champions in either discipline as a champion but never reached their potential because they weren't able to position themselves with the right kind of people that with the proper coaching can get them to harness that extra 1% that sometimes can make all the difference in the world with how their trajectory of improvement goes.

I dont know if that explains exactly what I'm trying to say bec I cant seem to come up with the right words that satisfy me with the point I'm trying to make.

Best potential sponsors in the sport are ones that have no concern of roi. If you make millions in profits give it to irs or go play with a race team because you can. Sport could use a lot more guys that don’t care about money comin back

Rookie season? Teasdale turned pro in '16. He has qualified for one 250 SX main event, and scored in the points in two outdoor motos since '16. I think that makes it even stranger, but oh well he's bringing money put him on a factory team.

It's not a one-for-one exchange. If you have millions in profits, you will pay 21% of that to the IRS. If you spend millions on a race team, them you pay 100% of that to the race team, but can usually deduct that expense as an advertising expense, which will save you about 21% of what you spend on sponsorships.

Watson said last week that they paid Partridge 100k. It's a known guess that it costs around 250k for 1 450 guy for just supercross only. Double that for the season. So 100k for salary and 500k ish for bike, parts, travel, mechanic, etc. So 600k for 1 person. Say the casino brings 1 million dollars. A majority of that money, goes into a rider that you dont get a massive return out of. Like I stated earlier, not a dig on those guys, just a weird twisted business model.

I used to go to the Soaring Eagle Casino and eat turkey sandwiches under the Yellow Suzuki that Carey Hart did the "first" back flip on. They had a deli that was all "moto'd out" with pictures of RC and Carey Hart on the walls. The people there had no clue what it was and couldnt have gave 2 shits about motocross at all. People in casinos dont give any f--ks about moto. What a weird combo.

I loved it. haha. They had used gear from riders mixed in with the Native American exhibits at the entrance....it was almost awkward and not classy at all. Again but I LOVED IT. Me and prob one other guy.

Teasdale is not on the Factory team. He is local NC rider that wanted to ride MX, but Phoenix Racing wasn't supporting. Isaac worked a deal with JGR retail to debut their motor mods.

Yes - referring to Broc Tickle.

And yes he would be a great pick up and should not cost too much either.

From my understanding, JS17 has been offered 1 year by HRC and 2 years by JGR. I’m a huge HRC fan but why would you take a 1 year deal? Here’s my holy shit thought.... CS14 retires and HRC hires CC (as long as WADA doesn’t fuck him). I think there’s going to be at least one WTF moment.
What is CC gonna bring to that team? He hasn’t done squat in the 250 class so far. He is better on a 450 but Savagty, as much as I don’t like him is a better bet than CC.

Who’s ready from the 250 division? What about Davalos? He’s pretty decent on a 450 and he did finally point out.

I think he would fit in well there. And he has good 450 experience and rode well on it. Won a couple outdoor moto’s I believe.
