Yes he's still #2. See that's a man that understands and loves where he came from. Its ok to get burned out i did at one point too with way less dedication. But you cant leave. Boys love dirt bikes and shit no matter the age. Where is JS259. 125 national? Would be an epic race, more watching than the mains. Stop hiding and wind that shit out again ?

Yeah, that would be the ultimate to see some past champs battle it out on 125s. I doubt they’re in as good of shape as RV is.

Did you see Dungey? Still looks like he could line up this weekend.

He retired less than a year ago though.

RV sounded like Yamaha was really treating him well plus Mitch let him setup a workspace at PC which is pretty sweet for both.

I was waiting for Lindsay to tell him to watch his language after he said "shit".tongue

Yeah...it was pretty rad, lol.

I love a candid RV with a smile. Seems like it would be cool to drink a beer with him and shoot the shit.

Man to have his accomplishments and walk away so young, then be able to come back and move freely within the moto industry still getting paid, that’s the shit! All his hard work and sacrifice paid off. He’s living the moto head dream. Even has his own work space at pro circuit. So cool and happy for him. Really would be cool also to see him work with an up and coming rider.

He made it very clear that he has access to almost anything Yamaha.

How could he not be enjoying himself? He is getting paid to ride whatever he wants - covering all sorts of disciplines.

I thought it was neat when he said all he has to do is tell Yamaha he needs this or that and all they say is come pick it up.

There’s a lot to that story, a lot. Moto isn’t always kind to a family.

This is the one and it was 3 years. I don't know how hard his life was but it does sound like he got rich married a skeleton and forgot about his family. That may not be true but thats how it sounds. So ide rather kick it with JS7 whos family was always trackside.

Wonder if he still blames his dad for robbing him of a childhood.

You sound like you're trying to justify an already established dislike.

The age difference and the geographic distance between Ryan and his sister probably explains most of that situation. I've known siblings who haven't talked for a year or more who actually DO get along and have no real barriers other than geography, age, etc.

As for the relationship with his parents, it's impossible for us to know the true wedge that made it broken for that time. They may not really even know themselves. Family dynamics are incredibly complex and usually illogical.

But why would you focus on the broken relationship period, rather than on the idea that he ended up being mature enough to reach out and work to repair it and try to put it in the past? That's the real story, the family reconciliation......

The interview was excellent imo
Nice to see him so open and happy
Just seemed like two buddy's chatting .
One thing that caught my attention
Was he says it's amazing how far the
125 two stroke yz125 has advanced /evolved
I was immediately thinking
I always here it's been the same for 20 years
Or at least since 2006
Does he know something we don't?
Or is he just riding such a sweet modified one
Which is definitely possible!

Yeah, it happens. I didn’t see or speak to my father from July 2003 until I saw him at the funeral of his sister/my aunt in March 2016. He didn’t recognize me at the funeral from 2-feet away...literally asked who I was. I wish I didn’t understand how that could happen, but unfortunately I know first hand.

I hope RV and his sister have healed and are back in touch.
