Who the hell is Guillem Farres?

They couldn't have someone who's already riding a Yamaha in the US fill in? Is he fast?

6th in EMX125 in 2020, hurt in 2021 for his emx250 debut, got some top 10 tho. Started the 2022 year with F4E GasGas and rode EMX250 in Portugal (7-7). Then joined Raths Motorsports when Jeremy Sydow got drafted to Diga Procross. Rode 3 GP in MX2 (got few moto top 10) and rode EMX250 in Lommel (DNF-2), he was battling for the win in first moto before a crash on the big triple.

I find it funny you know nothing about him but insist there must be an American that they could sign instead of him.

Good rider, but often flashes or crashes. Surprised Star pick him up given his moto results::

2022: MX2 - 22, 10, 13, 23, 13, 10
2021-2022: EMX250 - 19, 22, 20, 13, 8, 10, 8, 7, 23, 14, 10, 10, 11, 10

Next big thing from Spain. He's got the talent and the style, results will follow soon, I'm sure about that.

I don’t mean for this to come across the wrong way, but could this be a purchased ride?

Yeah, he purchased the ride for 2X Nick Romano's salary....

I think it's already been proven that Star Racing doesn't allow random people to purchase their rides...

It has been said that one of the reasons he has had difficult times to get a team in Europe is the fact that he does not put any kind of money to buy a seat.

And I do not think he has funds to buy anything. As far as I know he traveled by himself and a mechanic to the Spanish Mxgp In a camper full privater style, as his parents had to work on Saturday, and a mechanic is all he had.... What I mean is, they are humble people with regular jobs.... Low probability he bought any ride.

I understand why you'd might think that, but this is a guy that if he brought a bit of funds to a team would have had very good rides in EMX/GP's allready. He doesnt have that ride at all (and this is no disrespect to Raths, great what they are doing). I would be very surprised to see them not put up money the last 2 years in EMX, and finally when he has a bunch of offers in GP's end up paying for a ride at Star.

The fact he's #409 and Brennan Schofield is #409 feels like they're trolling everyone.

What are the chances that the TV broadcast and podcasts pronounce Guillem's name correctly?

Paying for rides in our sport is becoming more common, but I love to hear they’re modest and the kid truly got the deal off talent.

I wasn’t accusing them of buying the ride, it was an honest question due to my ignorance of what’s going on in global moto.

Who are riders who have paid for a seat in the US in recent years? I’m not saying you’re wrong, just genuinely curious.

He's very fast, and showed some good speed this year in EMX and even MX2 in the odd race he did. Defintiely and young kid with a bright future if he can secure a good MX2 ride which he has a chance to get for 2023...

What are the chances they even mention him? Seems like he will be in the 10-20 range and the broadcasters don’t mention them much.

I'd say pretty good chances, they mentioned Talviku last weekend and he's not even on one of the major teams.

A pretty good young Euro prospect signed by Star Yamaha? Yes, 100% they will talk about him IMO
