Red Bulls video got me thinking about this. I still wear one, a Kevco Stubbs. So who else still wears one?

I still wear one. I have lower back problems and I feel like I could break in half when I ride without it.

I only wear it when I'm riding Lommel. I get pain in my back from standing the whole lap, lol.

I'm on the younger side(just turned 28) and grew up wearing one. I stopped for a while until I had back surgery in 2014. Once I started riding again, I started wearing a kidney belt again. The one I wear adds some support for my lower back. I also feel more comfortable wearing it.

Which brand do you wear?

I wear a Thor and I love it. I’ll be 18 in a month, arthritis sucks.

Been thinking of going back to one. My back was flaring up all year after riding moto or the mtb.

Check out a Kevco Stubbs. It was invented by a team of doctors. Best one I've found after my back surgery.

Crazy how we haven't seen a pro wear one in how long?

Haven’t worn one since the late 80’s. With 12+” of suspension, I don’t feel it’s necessary (for my kidneys), although I can see why some might use it for back support !

That's probably all I'd be good for at that track Laughing

I use it every time I ride. I don’t understand why people don’t. Fox racing makes a few, forget which one I have.

Always have, feel naked without. Kevco-Stubbs is the best thing since sliced bread! Get the lower back support without the restrictive feel in the front. Have always had back issues being tall, and compressed T4,5,6 in 85'- but it's mainly for lower back support. My Chiro dude says stomach muscles are key, my guess is pro's so fit they don't need it, but I always shake my head thinking about them riding that hard and not utilizing one!

i wore one all the time. i think people went away from them due to stigma of back belt being over used to the point of weakening ones back but if you work out then only use during riding it helps a lot

I run the Leatt kidney belt since it helps support by lower back and provides real impact protection (most chest protectors don't cover the lumbar region).

Another vote for a Kevco-Stubbs. Since I don't get to ride as often since I am usually dad-mechanic it keeps my back from killing me afterwards. the nice thing is these can fit under jersey so you don't even notice it when riding.....

I quit wearing it a few years ago. The third ride or so I crashed and injured my coccyx... Man it sucks when that bone hurts. Worse than broken ribs...
Never rode without one after that

I still ride with one on the bike or on my O-turn mower. When you get older, you do what it takes to help save your back.

I've just recently questioned this when I heard them talk about it on DMXS. I started wearing them back in early 2000's after I noticed my lower back would get sore a day or two after riding. Also attribute it to learning how to corner ruts harder/faster.. I wore one everytime up until about a couple weeks ago to see if it still felt like a necessity. Sure enough, after a couple days of riding, threw my back out.

I guess thats what I get for trying to squeeze into some 32's instead of my normal 34's...

I do because I am old and don't train or ride as much as I used to, but also out of habit. Couple times I haven't, it has felt weird.
